Old West
I was feeling a little nostalgic about the American Old West (19th Century Western United States). A woman, who wears “iron” (gun) on her left hip, walks into a saloon, scarred and dirty. She is as beautiful as she is ruthless…a necessity to survive the unforgiving nature of the American West. With a hot orange desert sun in the background.
Edit: Unfortunately I didn't catch the mistake in the belt buckle before I rendered it.
Started with a Genesis 9 Female...
Added a saloon environment and desert background.
Added the completed model, after I morphed the body, gave her color and texture, changed her position, facial expression, and some added clothes.
Added a corset, gun belt, holster, and gun…jacket and bandana.
First test render.
Change the background to more of an orange color, and added dirt to her face, plus a scar on her cheek.
Final render, added a scar to her forehead.
Tools and assets used:
Daz3D Studio, Iray and Photoshop
Genesis 9 Female Template
Curly Top Updo Hair
CBWILA Clothes
Dusty holsters and peacemaker
Daz3D Lighting
HDRI and Western Saloon Set Environment
In Summary:
- I start out with a model template and morph the body physically.
- I put the body into a position, change facial expressions, add makeup, dress the model, add skin texture, props, etc…
- I either can embed the character into the background or wrap the environment around the character, then add lighting and camera settings, like depth of field.
- Rendering time was about 3 hours.
- Postwork in Photoshop (adding imperfections in the skin, changing atmosphere and lighting, etc…)
Stay frosty people.
Decore of the place looks authentic, but I am not sure about the lady's dress; most part of it is visible with not much details, and the rest... does not make me think about American Old West, exactly.
Beautiful work.
Thank you @archerart :)
