Special day on a mountain bike

Have you ever imagined how special one can feel exploring remote areas on a bike?
It was so fun and amazing ride yesterday through the remote communities of southwestern part of Uganda in a small district Kisoro. After my long day photographing birds around Mgahinga national park, I decided to take a ride on mountain bike since I had felt a little bit bored. I got the bike and first checked if all parts are well fixed and in good conditions then I went with my spare tube for in case I got a puncture or any other problem with any of the ones in. On setting off, I remembered that I had to pack enough water so I did and started with the famous volcanic trail.
This trail allows you get a spectacular view of the volcanoes and the human settlements in the area.
On the way, the little kids from around started calling "Mzungu, Mzungu hello hello." and whenever I could stop, they could run towards me with enthusiastic waves. What was so funny is that you would hear them closer whispering "He's not a Mzungu" meaning that I'm not a white person. They requested for a ride that I offered and all the four were eager to push the bike.

I had rode about 40km with uphills and downhills so I needed some little bit of minutes to breathe in and out without a bike. Looking at the volcanoes infront was super cool and felt more relaxed as the kids were giving me more funs of laughter.
I began the ride again back home as it was approaching evening. The schooling children again met me and requested the same thing to ride or at least hold push the bike for a few seconds but the seconds turned into minutes. It took 30 minutes for the kids to return it back to me but I had to request them kindly since it w as getting late.

These days we receive heavy rains here in Uganda so I could sometimes miss the exercise due to bad weather. That day it didn't rain much but the little that did brought another trail complications. I had to ride in heavy mud and slides that took me extra minutes of dodging incidents of falling down.

I managed to reach home safely but I was all my back was soaked in mud due to the wheeling mud splash.
I took a shower and rested for the next adventure.
This experience gave me more fun but mostly gave me motivation to keep trying things out and making your neighbors happy.
I wish you a blessed day and happy holidays to you all
