A Bite at the Brewery
Once a month, every month for the past year, @judethedude has to go for the adjustment on his braces and the orthodontist that he sees is situated in a little village centre enroute to Hermanus called the Hemel en Aarde Business Village. His appointments normally take about 45 minutes so sometimes, Dave and I pop over to the Hemel en Aarde Brewery, which is literally a few steps outside the front of the orthodontists office (how convenient, haha!)
I don't think I really need to give much of an introduction into what kind of establishment this is, lol - but as far as brewery restaurants go... its a really awesome one! They have a fantastic menu and the food is ALWAYS first class!
The appointment generally booked for late afternoon (4.30pm) it is always pretty quiet there as everyone is still at work etc. but normally this little spot hums with activity! Anyhooo, I don't mind the peace and quiet :) and we generally aren't there for very long anyway... just a quick bite to eat and sometimes a drink (if I don't have a busy evening ahead, lol)
In this instance, Dave decided to grab himself one of their legendary burgers and we shared a Quesadilla board, which is just absolutely to die for. Just telling you about it now is making me salivate, lol.
The Quesadilla board might not look like much, but don't be fooled - I had already shoved a few of the slices down my throat. We were already half way through when I woke up to take a photo, lol. One of my oldest school friends who stays in Hout Bay, Cape Town often comes up this way to visit. Her husbands folks stay in Sandbaai so they visit them for the weekend from time to time. In fact, now that we live an hour and a half away from them, I actually see her more than I did when we were in Cape Town, lol.
The brewery is the one place we always head to when they are around! Its just such a great vibe and as I said, the food is AMAZING. They also do some really cool craft beer tastings and pairings as well as brandy tastings and pairings... and they are both big beer drinkers... well, they are bikers so I suppose 1 + 1 = 2 haha!
It is always a great place to visit - and truth be told those are the only two instances where we do go there, but not for any other reason than "life" lol. The only problem I have with going there in the late afternoon is that I have ZERO desire to cook dinner when I get home, so it normally ends up being something lazy on the menu from mom! - Totally worth it, haha!

That cheesy burger and French fries look delicious. But also the place looks clean and well decorated. Absolutely worth it!

I can sense the calm and cool vibe at the restaurant. Chilling with freshly brewed beer is another kind of experience as the evening turns to darkness. :)
