Celtic knotwork - knot panels drawing, part1
Hi friends!
Let's see...
I have drawn a much simpler shape of what a Celtic-style letter could be to begin studying how some knot panels could be included inside it.
This is the sketch...
Refining the shape...
Here the interesting and nice work begins...
Let's try to make a knot panel inside the upper part of the drawn shape.
Starting by dividing horizontally this portion into eighth.
(if you don't know how to divide a segment into equal parts, here is a useful tip)

The result should be similar to this image.
Then, the drawing of vertical lines, or better said, the perpendicular to the eight lines drawn previously.
We will consider the central part to draw a knot of 8 lines, then, on the right side knots of 6 lines, and on the left side a knot of 4 lines, plus an intertwined line.
We trace the diagonal lines between the cells in both senses to get this result.
Before starting to draw the intertwined lines we will define certain break lines as we have seen in previous posts.
Feel free to define other break lines to find another way of interlacing if you already feel confident enough with the technique.
This is the result...
I forgot to tell you before, that the goal of this drawing is to achieve a single endless loop, consistent with the philosophical meaning of Celtic knots.
Check it out for yourself by following the path of the intertwined lines, as shown here with the outline in blue.
