Amazing Grasshopper | Insects paparazzi
There was a time in my life when I wanted to be an entomologist, I think I was between 12 and 14 years old. Insects fascinated me, getting to know them, studying them, learning their behavior and taxonomies.
The 5 selected close-ups
Photo N° 1
Arthropods (animals with jointed legs) in general are my favorites. A first classification that you learn is how many legs does it have? 6 is an insect, 8 are arachnids, 10 are crustaceans, more than 100 are myriapods |
Photo N° 2
Grasshoppers are insects with a very beautiful design, which sometimes comes with very interesting color combinations. As photographic models they are spectacular, because there are times when they can remain very still even if you stand very close to them. |
Photo N° 3
Although when you least expect it, they jump and disappear from your sight and from the front of your camera. I captured one still in the larval stage (It has not completed its development and has no wings). I took it to the studio to capture some portraits of it. |
Photo N° 4
As I would like to have a macro camera, I know that I would be able to reach the level of sharpness that my cell phone camera no longer provides. Although I recognize that it works miracles and I have almost gotten the hang of the work style. I do need a tripod and a camera. |
Photo N° 5
I worked in the studio, holding the grasshopper between my fingers, I needed a tripod to have both hands free. Digital editing with Lightroom, intended to crop and improve framing, sharpness and color. |
