For this competition, I cut a watermelon into a shark sculpture. I learnt this art technique from YouTube. I'll walk you through how I did it step by step.

Watermelon Shark-Vegetable Sculpture

Required materials

• Watermelon
• Knife
• Blade
• Plate

STEP1:

First, take an oval-shaped watermelon and then cut a quarter off one side of it to resemble a shark's mouth.

STEP2:

Then take a blade and cut off the green skin about an inch from the top and bottom of the mouth like a sleeve.

STEP3:

After taking an inch of skin from the top of one watermelon, cut it into a triangular shape in a zigzag pattern, leaving the white part visible.

STEP4:

Now carve an oval shape on the top of the watermelon. If you leave a round shape in the middle, it will look like an eye.

STEP 5:

Now dig into the watermelon inside the tooth-like carved area to give it a mouth-like appearance.
