Well, our world is colorful and our lives are all unique. So let me walk you through some parts of mine!

I am sure I have not mentioned that before but as a child, in my school years, I trained football, for a few consecutive years. Then, my height started to kick in and I switched to basketball and I liked that sport a bit more as there was less running and more action. Loved to use my hands too!

Fast forward to the present days, I am still a fan of football. However, not one of those fans who would watch every game live or on the tellie. I even don't have a favorite team but if I have to pick one, it would definitely be an English team. Sorry, my fellow compatriots but our own championship... sucks. Years of corruption and lack of long-term vision and desire to change led to the fact we could hardy qualify for any European or World football championship. I tried to watch few games and sorry to say that but they were all pathetic, compared to what could be seen in the other countries around. There is a positive side to that though - I can enjoy Euro 2024, stress and care free!

So far, all the games I watched were, in my opinion, worth it the time.

The last game I watched last night was facing England vs. Serbia. No surprises here England scored 1:0.

Not a huge score but enough to put the team at #1 for the moment.

Now, it is interesting how the game I watched inspired me to share my photos and tell you more about a place I visited when we were paying a visit to our friends who live in Northampton, England, UK.

Going to Abington park wasn't any part of our itinerary. It just happened so suddenly there was some time on our plates and we needed a walk. Our friends' dog also needed some time outside to prevent a dog disaster #2, LOL.

Now, I really don't have any clue what that painted hand could mean but let's say everyone has to stop (by) here!

At the early afternoon, the park wasn't overcrowded but still, plenty of people.

Paying tribute in a creative and beautiful way:

There is a small aviary and it gives the chance to check out the new song by Birdie, yeah!

People could educate themselves about the variety of butterflies that habituate the park:

Ah, those seductive benches under the trees. I could've spent hours here!

I guess that's the building used by the staff maintaining the park (remember the painted hand in question above?)

If it wasn't looking ridiculous (for an old fart like myself), I'd be playing in that playground, trust me :)

A really wonderful place, with plenty of picnic sites... Next time probably, with a picnic blanket and a good sci-fi book to read under the shades of the centuries-old trees...
