Have I Found it? Imprinted by LightCaptured
When it is about a lazy summer vacation, probably my favorite destination is Greece.
Not too far, not too expensive.
Excellent cuisine, warm hospitable people who still have that tiny pinch of "Balkan soul" that despite the language that has nothing to do with any other European language, still allow me to somehow understand their way of thinking.
And I like that way of thinking.
I've met people who say "Greeks are lazy". I totally disagree with that. I've seen many locals who take shifts starting at 5 AM and ending at 10 PM, people who work in the tourist sector, who after a few consecutive days of such shifts, still have smiles on their faces at the end of the day. Trust me when I tell you, I can hardly, if ever, experience such thing in my country.
Probably there are many more reasons I love having vacations in Greece.
However, I am not sure that I have found "My" place. By "My" I mean the place where I would be going back each summer, over and over. I've been thinking, probably that's just not me, I love to explore new places. Well, I can't tell that is absolutely valid for me.
Here are some photos from a place we went to recently, that I liked at, let's say, 95% :)
We had few experiences there we haven't had anywhere else, so I will tell you more in a future story! ;)
So, stay tuned!

I am quite reserved when it comes to holidays in this country. Maybe because I don't like the idea of going abroad, but actually being surrounded by Bulgarians at every step, as if I were in Bulgaria. I don't blame them. But actually I blame them. It is fashionable to go on vacation in Greece and it has been for years and most people just blindly follow this fashion. I'm not sure all these people really take into account the higher quality of service and everything and the nicer beaches. It's just a trend. Also, the language, as you yourself mention. Good for you for understanding something. I would never start learning this language. And maybe that's where it all starts. 😃
P.S. The images are divine, though.
Trust me, it's not a fashion, because just for slightly more money, here people get real vacation and don't return home tired and in need of another couple of days off before returning to the office! :)
I've been there tens of times, haven't been disappointed.
Regarding the quality of the vacation, I do not argue. Just this evening they told on the news about the new deaths on the Bulgarian coast, because the sea is extremely "unpredictable" and, in my opinion, almost completely unsuitable for vacationing. They even showed how dirty and ugly it is lol.
Your photos show beautifully what "holiday in Greece" means and I support your opinion, it is visible and even objective, in this case. I'm just sharing my own feelings. If I do go to this country for further vacations, I will have to learn some Greek, but I have no desire for that.😂
I thinks Greeks in the more popular destinations are already in front of you, some of them have already learnt Bulgarian, lol :)

Вот здесь я бы мог поставить палатку и долго отдыхать :-)
Interesting you say this, there is a camping site, just a short walking distance from here :)
ОНи нашли себе отличное место)
I'd camp there definitely but I don't why, even putting my own old car on a ferry makes me a bit nervous! :)))
Зайди на паром с большим рюкзаком :-)))
Hehehe. One of the reasons I love my old Hyundai Tucson is it brings me everywhere with its fine 4WD, insurance is cheap and if something goes wrong with it, repairs aren't expensive.
I've been on ferries few times with it, but the feeling is still, you know, that something is going to happen :)))
рано или поздно, но что-то обязательно произойдёт. Одно я знаю наверняка - мы все умрём. Но пусть это будет как можно позднее))
