Night leaned over us...
My soul kneels, places its hands, and prays!
The moonlight over the hills at this hour
Is water from a pitcher that has spilled...
I don't know who scattered so many pearls!
Someone murmurs through the ravines...
Field flowers, humble, even now,
Night has gently closed their eyes...
Smoke kissing the thatched roofs of homes...
Idyllic serenity of fountains,
And the voice of nightingales in the willows...
Tranquility... calm... nightfall...
In an ecstasy, I listen over the hills
To the heart of the stones beating...
