Holidays in the Mountains

in WORLD OF XPILAR4 years ago

I wanted to write this yesterday, but then I was feeling a little lazy and gave it a skip, so here I am today early morning with my holiday story. e had a good long weekend of 5 days due to Eid Holidays and it was such a welcoming break. Me and hubby along with our other 2 friends planned a trip in the Mountains, we have visited this place several times before as well, but never get enough of it. The place holds some breathtaking views and a very serene environment. It keeps pulling me like a magnet. The best part of this place is, it is a very small resort, not at all fanciful, just with the basics that one would need and it is completely cut off from civilization. Right on the Mountain Top this is the only place where one can stay. And they have limited rooms, so there is no scope of it getting crowded and this leaves the place completely unpolluted and full of fresh air.

In and around Muscat we have many resorts are normally all of them are crowded and very commercial, full of tourist, because everyone wants to get away from the hustle bustle of the city life and relax and unwind over the weekend. Especially the long weekends and holiday time they get crowded. And also, these guys plan up on some additional activities to attract the crowd.

But this particular one is very different. First of all, it is almost a 3 and half hour drive from the city and a steep drive through the mountain roads, so not many people opt for it, and then due to its limited capacity and being the only place to stay , it limits the number of guests. It does not have any additional activities so people with children do not prefer such places. It is best for nature lovers and people who want to spend secluded time. So, the best choice for me. We were thinking of many places but then shortlisted on this one, considering we would want to be away from the chaos. We had a good 2 nights stay though I would wanted to extend it by 1 more day but offices resume back so we had to get back home :-(

Let me share some pictures with you all from the trip. The sunset was gorgeous, the weather is beautiful and you have all that you need to brighten up your soul.

The drive to the top itself was so wonderful with great views. It was a bright sunny day when we started with 42 degrees at the bottom and as we reached up temperature dropped to 26 degrees.

All through out the way we saw many goats grazing.

On the way we took a short halt, though there was nothing around, but this was just to free up our legs and click some pictures.

We reached our hotel after a good long 3.5 hr drive. I enjoy these long drives with the views. On reaching the hotel the first thing I saw was these Pomegranate trees, these are the only trees in this region. Now is the season also, in another 2 months time they will be fully grown.

On reaching the hotel we got to know that we were the only 2 couples for the stay, that was much to my delight. We went on the week days so probably no one was there, but the day we left on Friday there were some families who had come over.

In the evening we went further up trekking to the mountains. The sunset looks gorgeous from here.

It feels like I can touch the Sun

Absolutely stunning, cannot get enough of it

After spending a good enough time at the top, we again came down to our hotel side and went on the other side of the road which was going down

I am enjoying my freedom and the fresh air, where do you get such a liberty to have the whole road by yourself :-)

We walked down for some distance on this road and then again returned back

Some stunning view from here as well

I would love to come here daily and spend this time....though this was just some fun time

Simply stunning

This is what I call freedom in life

Those were 2 wonderful days spent, and then it was time to get back home. I was feeling little sad, but then there is always a next time.

Hey! I just found you through a common Steemit friend @playfulfoodie. She is super nice and it seems like you are too.

Wow, India looks amazing! Especially where you went on your two day trip. India is such a huge country and I know so little about it, but little more now thanks to your post. I've been traveling the world for almost 20 years but never made it to India. I usually don't enjoy places that are very densely populated, but it looks like in this part of the country there might be more goats than people!

I like your blog, you really do a great job with it. I'll try to stop by every now and then, but I don't have much time to curate so I just added you to my autovoter to give you a little extra support.

Keep up the great work!

Thank you for visiting my blog @world-travel-pro
This is not India, I am from India and currently living in Oman, Muscat.
Oman is a very beautiful place, full of natural beauty. I am not sure if you have travelled here or not, but if you are a nature lover you will surely appreciate this place a lot.
Thank you for the support.
Good Luck and Best wishes

Oh wow! Thank you for clarifying that for me. Never been there either. I thought Muscat was in India! hahaha, little do I know. Funny how I know South America, Central America, South East Asia, and Europe really well...but not that part of the world. Thanks again for the kind words and keep up the great blog!
