WOX Magazine.png

This time there were so many cool posts that after the publication of the magazine, there were 11 more posts in my notebook that were worth including in the issue. Isn't that wonderful?!

I continue the initiative of small support of the best authors. 60% of the reward from each issue will be given to the three authors whose articles were most frequently published in the magazine in the last 10 issues (20% to each author).

This time the leaderboard looks like this:

Author
The number of articles included in the magazine
@jaynie
18
@denmarkguy
15
@soulfuldreamer
11

And now let's move on to today's issue.

Strange Times: Love and Valuing the "Human" Part of Our Humanity

The thing I really want to touch on here is the considerable change we have undergone in terms of what we value in our fellow humans... as people; as a species. Specifically the thing that concerns me — and always has concerned me — is the fact that people increasingly value/evaluate a human being in terms of money and status, rather than character and integrity.

Strong Roots

Growing up in a house full of four men probably explains why I've got this, uh, let's call it an "attitude," though honestly, I don't see it as a problem, lol! But seriously, a lot of guys I come across seem to struggle with the idea of a woman who's got a mind of her own, and heaven forbid, a voice too!

Exploring Multani Blue Pottery | Kashigari

In one of my previous posts, I shared a few glimpses of blue Multani pottery, and at least two of the readers showed interest in it. There is a very rich history in the Indo-Pak subcontinent, and this blue pottery from our city of Sufis, Multan in Pakistan, has its roots tracing back before the partition. While searching and surfing the internet for information on this special craft, I came across some very interesting details. Additionally, I happen to own some pieces of this blue pottery. So here I am, taking you on a virtual tour of this craftsmanship with its very rich history.

Relationships, Love, Dreams, Wants and Compromises

By the time I reached 18 and left home, I had created a rather mixed-up and fantastical "soup" in my soul. representing what I thought I wanted... romantic dreams, if you will. At their heart the fundamental idea that there surely had to be something better than what I had witnessed all around me during my first 18 years.

How Wedding Bells ring in Pakistan?

In general, weddings in Pakistan are an extravagant affair - an excellent opportunity to boast wealth and to seek validation from society. The middle class tries their best to host a spectacular event and even the lower class tries to send their daughters off with a notable dowry - even if they have to spend their life's savings or take loans.

Following the Footsteps of Barcelona's Architectural Treasure

My visit to this vibrant city began with a concert by one of the most recognizable Chilean artists - Anita (Ana) Tijoux. Her music is a blend of hip-hop and Latino, and most of her lyrics are socially engaged. Live, her voice sounds just like it does on record, she's that good. My goal was to hear her live, not so much the city itself, as this is my fourth visit. But since I'm on Steеm, wherever I travel, I take photos, even if I've already been to a place. And I found that Steam encourages me to pay more attention to things that didn't impress me much before.

Travel Stories From Laos #1: Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Vientiane

Hello, in this post I'll share my trip to the cities and surroundings of Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Vientiane, which are the three most popular cities in the country. The beauty and number of attractions in this country are astonishing for visitors.Therefore if you decide to come here, I recommend allocating much more time for your visit.

Enemy In Disguise

These past few days, I've been feeling a very unfamiliar feeling, at least for a long time. If I recall far back, maybe about 7-8 years ago since the last time I felt like this, where I secluded myself, spent a lot of time alone playing games all the time, movie marathons, being in front of the laptop all the time but seemingly confused to do something that used to be my routine. Like editing photos, writing, reading blogs, and leaving meaningful comments on social media or Steemit.

Parallel Landscapes of Trust

About two months ago I wrote a post about our dog and all his little personality quirks, which are mostly centred around his insecurities and fears. I was reminded of this again yesterday as we attempted to head out with him for a walk and once again he simply refused to go anywhere, so we gave up and just turned around, took him home and went for a walk ourselves.

The beautiful Jummah Masjid in Port Louis, Mauritius

This beautiful mosque has been an active center of worship since the 1850s. A sacred place to the muslim community. It's located in the heart of Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius.
