My Steemian friends,

Most of us will be familiar with the term “a diamond in the rough.”
Well, if you are looking for a diamond holiday destination, there is none other than the unspoiled Keurboomstrand in South Africa.

Keurboomstrand is situated on the well-known Garden Route and only 10 kilometers from the town of Plettenberg Bay. If you are traveling by car, you have to be careful, as you might miss the turn-off that will take you there.

The little town leaves you with a village feeling. You will find no shops, no filling stations, and no schools in this little town. What you will find is a lovely long beach perfect for long walks, the endemic Knysna lories, and schools of dolphins and whales giving birth to their little ones.

For many years, Keurboomstrand has been home to us. We would pack our bags in November, only to return to the city lights in January.
Our log cabin is situated on the mountain overlooking the ocean, from where we watch the sunrise over the ocean in the east and go down in the west over Robberg and Plettenberg Bay.
In all the years, I have not seen two sunrises or sunsets that were the same.

A must-visit for locals, tourists, and holidaymakers is having a meal at the only restaurant, Enrico, one of South Africa’s top Italian restaurants. I often wonder what Enrico is most famous for its famous “bomba” or the spectacular sunset views.

The seaside photo I am sharing with you today was taken while we were sitting at Enrico watching the sunset.

What is also amazing is how Mother Earth shapes and changes her world for us.
Whenever we go to Keurbooms, the very first thing we do is go to the beach, and the reason for this is to see how the beach has changed over the months that we have not been there. Often, it leaves us speechless when we see the unbelievable power that was used to change the canvas. Rocks that we have never seen all of a sudden appeared. The wide beach is just a strip of sand, and often it is the other way around. The rocks that the children climbed on during the last holiday season are just covered with sand, and the beach is so much wider.

It is at times like this that I want to say, "The only thing I want is to awaken all humans on the planet to the fact that we are living on Mother Earth." (By Afrika Bambaataa)

I thought so. It is also what your account say but when I saw the " we live in an amazing country" I started to doubt it. (•ิ‿•ิ)

Lovely landscape :) Cheers :)

Thank you!☕

There are many great places on earth all we need is to be able to see it for real.

If it comes to the restaurant: it must be the few 🤣, being the only one help too.

Like my mom always said, "Open your eyes and love what is around you." (•ิ‿•ิ)

Very true. She must be proud that's what you do. 🍀❤️

Hi @patjewell, that looks like a really lovely place to go and visit.

sorry to ask this on your comments but I was not sure how to be a verified steem lady and sometimes it would be nice to put my posts in that community. I would appreciate you assisting me thanks
