Crochet decorations across the UK in celebration of Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II
This week it's a four-day Jubilee bank holiday weekend in the United Kingdom because for the first time in history a British monarch is celebrating Platinum Jubilee; it's the 70th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II on 6 February 1952.
In the photos in this post you can see post boxes decorated with crochets, created by crafters in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. This has been happening all over the country and you can read more about it in this news article.
I took the photos last month (May 21, to be precise) in South Manchester and somehow forgot all about them. Today I sort of rediscovered the pics on my phone and thought I'd share some of that fine artistry that could be seen for the past couple of weeks in Britain.
Happy celebrations to everyone in the Commonwealth and indeed anywhere where there are people celebrating.
