Let’s meet Serge Attukwei Clottey, a Ghanaian artist who raises awareness internationally about hunger.

This pop-up installation here in London is inspired by an African harvest festival taking place at the start of August prior to the rainy season.

The activist wants to make a point that climate change has a major impact on the communities across the globe, affecting both farmers and the people they try to feed.

Serge used scrap materials and plastic found near his home in Accra, Ghana to put this installation together.

The large bowls featured here as a centrepiece are normally used at home in food preparation and especially for presenting offerings to the gods.

Before the festival begins there is a long agreed time of silence followed by religious and nature songs.

The loud music wrapped around us all. Whilst the music was still on a kid was trying to find Lucy.

It has a white neck and black spots the little girl told me. She looked like a genius with big glasses on and was really obsessed with finding Lucy.

She kept shouting her name. I was hoping that the songs which Africans believe help the crops and ensure a better harvest would help this young Asian girl too.

They won’t do any harm at least.
