#club5050 Sugar Rush

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 years ago

The featured pink, yellow, pale green and blue madness on all sorts of textures and sprinkled with tons of glitter don’t resemble my younger sister’s birthday cake.

I bet she would have loved it though, but my mum would let her barely try it which is the right thing to do one would say.

I attended When Flowers Dream, an exhibition to do with foods of the future.

Tanya Schultz known as Pip & Pop is an Australian artist who put together all this.

She bought the dress especially for this exhibition. She said so. I am not joking.

On the way out you have the one of a kind opportunity to purchase a pair of earrings featuring the pastel colours of the exhibition. Just be ready to spend a minimum of £22.

I didn’t buy earrings though they are my favourite piece of jewellery. I also left with mixed feelings about the exhibition as a whole. I heard all the kids who attended craving lollipops, candy floss and gummy bears which I hope is not how the food of the future will look.

I honestly expected to see installations made from organic elements rather than artificial materials. I felt a bit intimidated by all the colours and glitter. They were too much in my face and prevented me and many others from seeing the bigger picture.

Most of the others who attended weren’t as impressed as they thought they would be. In a way the entire exhibition resembled the creative aisle of a gigantic Poundland store.

I also felt like I am just about to start choosing colours, shapes and sizes to make my own jewellery.

What about you readers? How do you feel about this exhibition? What are your thoughts on it?

Just have in mind that by 2050 the world’s population is expected to be over nine billion. There are just 12 crops which provide us with more than 80 per cent of our daily calories so it is very likely that we are facing a food crisis.

The meeting impressed me. I do not know where people get such ideas? It is good that you find time to attend such events :-)

People love sugar 🤦‍♀️ and in a way they can’t wait to see what the future has for them. I bet it started in a small scale and then the artist kept adding textures and shapes. If I were doing it I reckon I would have came up with an exterior version just outside the gallery too. I love attending such events which is why I adore London, there is always something on. Keep an eye out for my next post but don’t worry it’s not going to be about another exhibition of the kind😃

I try not to miss any of your posts :-)

That is like a magic, such colourful and a lot of fantasy to create it.

It is indeed 🦄 I guess this is the environment many picture unicorns living in. Thank you so much for nominating my article for our community support programme. The booming upvote followed as usual and I can’t wait to have more Steem to power up again.

Congratulations!

Thank you ever so much! I am really glad to see that you guys are still doing business here in June too! I am also pleased that Steem is going up in value right now so I do hope that better times await all of us here on the platform.

Greetings friend @petface

I think the exhibition was designed for girls under 15, it is the typical fantasy environment where unicorns and ponies make their presence felt, maybe their tastes are a bit more serious than this.

This comment kinda lets me think there's a hope for humanity after all. I guess @petface and other ladies are able to connect with their inner teenage girls in environments like that.
The magic of color is beautiful nonetheless.

This is some kind of pink madness, not a food exhibition. 😂

And in the center of the exhibition is a beautiful girl with smartphones in her hands, which, by the way, fits very well into the interior of the exhibition 😊😊😊

I can’t agree with you more @apnigrich and I even love pink stuff 🌸 The relation to food would be the many hungry gallery staff memebers having to put all this together in a very short time skipping lunch. Pretty soon even just living in London being considered art won’t surprise me 😉
