RE: 💬 Promoting WOX's Top Commenters - Supporting Steemit's Vision Week #1
That definitely isn’t a one man job @the-gorilla I saw that you also had to do a lot of explaining as well and answer many questions which in the end of the day takes extra time on top of flagging posts. Even to flag a post involves lots of reading and investing I suppose before just hitting the red flag 🚩 It’s quite clever that you got the community leaders involved in fighting plagiarism too.
There were a couple of reliable helpers, @datych was one of the best. But like you say, arguing took up as much time as investigating and the point at which you're highlighting $1,000 of pending payouts which nobody can do anything with, it feels pointless slapping some poor kid who's earning $0.02 with a notice and downvote.
That all makes sense when you look at the big picture really @the-gorilla It’s still great that you raised awareness about plagiarism here. I hope that this at least made the regular contributors more certain that this platform is the right place to share their ideally exclusive content. There isn’t such a thing as the safest place on Earth but knowing people like you read, investigate and are available to answer questions if needed I find reassuring enough. I remember @datych being very proud of his title in Mosquito Squishers 🔎
And at the moment there seems to be a civil war between the Bangladeshi and Pakistani communities. So I thought it might be nice to do this...

Oh Dear 😱 Hope it sorts itself out any time soon and they don’t expect you to take sides.
It was my post that started all of the trouble 🤣🤣🤣
OMG 😱 It counts as an achievement then 👊 Am I maybe working on my new avatar tonight 🤔There can’t be a better time than now!
Ha ha. Beats me 🤷♂️ I highlighted a dodgy looking community and it turns out they all hate their country reprasentative!
😱 Oh Dear..They maybe hate the country representative for a reason? It's good when it's all out there. I'm pleased to find out that you're really devoted to making the platform a better and safer place for the creative hard working souls. I admire you for caring to read lots, put 2 and 2 together, investigate and then even make the post about your findings something pleasant and fun to read.
I can't quite recognise your new avatar... what is it?
Part of my face with the Steem crypto currencies logo on. I used face paint to do it last night. I thought this way I will relate my screen name to the crypto currencies which are in use here on the platform. I was hoping this will make me look like a proper Steemian. @serap complimented it saying it looks quite Steem exclusive 💁♀️
A war? Why?
Oh, the usual - one group accusing the other of abusing community accounts, plagiarism, farming, fake profiles, etc. Country representatives accused of being immoral and corrupt (probably because they found their fake profiles). It's probably been happening since the beginning of Steemit!
Wow. Probably, these are old wounds. The countries had ugly divorce in the past.
There is tension within Steemit Russian-speaking society too.
I think some of this has spilled into WoX - when I'm reviewing comments, I see some strange ones that I don't really understand but it doesn't look too kind!
It's happened in German-speaking too recently 🤷♂️
Bad curation on Steemit ruins people's faith in Steemit and Steem. I don't mention bots that belong to top witnesses. The system is not healthy.
I’ve also noticed some tension indeed between Russian speakers by just reading comments.
