⭐ My artistic review of 2022 🌟🎨

Hi everyone! 😊

I wanted to look back and make a compilation of my creations during the year 2022.
When I remembered my past year, I realized that this year was very calm for me, despite all, and that I didn't notice some big events.
But, in the art field, despite the fact that I had a lot of projects and ideas of creations that have not yet emerged, I did create quite a few things, and some for which i'm proud.
So, I hope that 2023 will also be a year of creativity, but maybe even more productive, to make me able to realize my projects.

At the beginning of the year, I made some weather variations on a painting that I had already made.
This is an exercise that I like, it asks to synthesize about what makes an atmosphere, how can we illustrate weather like raining by playing with lighting, contrast, colors,...

In 2022, I also participate in a challenge that I really like : the character design challenge.
It is a challenge based on character design (as you can see) with each month a different theme.
I really like drawing animals (not too much humans but I should make some efforts 😅) so I participated in 3 themes that involved animals : Bird warrior, Olympic animal and Dog adventurer.

I also make some drawings using Ink technique. Sometime I used blue pen, a technique I love, because it allows us to do very contrasted results.

This year, I notice that I haven't done many large drawing projects, but I made this pastel painting of a Flamingo.
Using pastels for portraits is something that I really like.
Despite this, I remember that this one was not so pleasant to make for me, because the dark paper was pretty difficult to manage.
For pastels papers, the color is not just important, they defined also the texture and the layer of the paper.
So, the dark papers looks more rough and thick than the lighter ones which are smoother.
Also, we had to pay attention on which colors we use on the paper : some pastels pencils react better on one colour paper than another.
So that sometimes it seems to slip on the paper, and sometimes it doesn't soak in very well and I have a lot of trouble getting the lights to come out.

2022 is also the year when I do my first steps on Blender, a 3D software.
I remember writing "learn blender" on my to-do list for so long lol.
But, when I started to, it goes so fast. So, in one month of studying I begin to handle it and try my first modelisations.

In july, I participated in a very nice challenge, the "John July Art Challenge" on Instagram.
He gives us some photos references per week, and we had to make studies in digital painting.
It was very funny to do, and very enriching. I practiced my environments painting in a fast way, to focus on the essential.
I sometime try to create a more cartoon atmosphere, sometime a more realistic one.

I also do this pretty painting that I like much, I would like to make more often this kind of painting, which is very calming and fulfilling.

How can I talk about this year without speaking of Inktober ? It takes itself one entire month! 😄
In 2022, I participate to the challenge in a very active way, as I do every day of it. I was very proud of that, because I didn't know if I will be able to do that, to manage with daily life. But I did !
Inevitably, as sometimes I didn't had enough time, I don't like some of the drawings very much or at all lol.

But it was a choice. I think there are two ways of approaching the Inktober challenge : either we do every day, or we do some days but in the best way as possible.
And... there are some insane people who manage to do both at the same time 😆
Maybe it would be my next year objective? Be crazy 😄

This year, I tried a new technique : the pointillism. And I really liked it!
So, I will continue to make drawings in this manner.
