This painting is inspired by the Legend of The Lady of Shalott (Elaine of Astolat) This is a fresh interpretation of Elaine, portraying her as a strong, determined woman. Videos of the process, and more information may be viewed at Rocky Kelley's YouTube channel. (Link at bottom of this page)

Hi @rockykelley that is impressive work and so beautiful, I immediately feel myself like watching the preparation of "Lord of the Rings" or "the Hobbit" with such beautiful decorations and ornaments. You are amazing! What pencil have you used that is seen on video?

Thank you so much @art-venture I am honored by your kind comments. Regarding my pencils: I use a wide variety of pencils in the early sketches… But I use vintage pencils from the 1960s when I am working on the finer details. I always use those 50+ Year old pencils from my collection because they provide superior performance during detail work.
