Learning To Place Value On Yourself

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago

The value you place on yourself is a determining factor to how you act. It is true that everyone has something that is resident in them which they can offer, but until you learn to place value on yourself, you will not unleash your full potential. In your home for example, you will not use the waste bin that is kept outside to pack your best clothes because you have more value for your clothes than the waste bin. This shows that what you value more is what you favour more.

The simplest explanation why people act with "anyhowness" or in certain unwholesome manner is because they do not place value on themselves. Have you ever seen seen a king playing with mud? The truth is that offences will come but if you value yourself and your peace, you will know how to deal with them effectively. Someone may offend you and if you go low to his level, it will harm your self worth, so you can just decide to be the bigger person. The way you rate yourself is equivalent to how others will rate you.

Having self worth and value for oneself is not pride. Pride is simply an overblown and overinflated self ego. However, a degree of ego is actually healthy because it places a level of confidence in the person and helps boost self-worth. There are many ways in which your value can be expressed: for example, the way you dress is oftentimes a direct expression of the kind of value you place on yourself. People will normally address you in a similar way to what your dressing portrays. You may not see anything in dressing but the truth is that people subconsciously attach judgement to the way people dress. So dress well to give more expression to your value.

One should also consider the way and manner they speak as a way of placing value on themselves. If you value yourself and your internal peace, you will know that it is not everything that requires you to speak and you should be mindful of the way you speak. There are times that you just need to refrain from speaking if you do not have what to say or if your opinion is not required. The truth is that the words of your mouth can influence someone's perception about you. More so, you can be condemned or justified simply by the utterances that come from your mouth - so add caution and discretion with the usage of words.

How you act and relate with people can also tell more about how you value yourself. Obviously, if you treat people without value and if you see everyone as being inferior to you, they will also treat you without value. If you value people, they will also place value on you. You will agree with me that the friend that values your friendship well is the friend you are drawn towards. But the person that places less value on you is also reciprocated with less value. If you do not want someone to belittle you, then do not belittle others. The truth is that it is the same measure you give to someone that will be returned to you.

You must not possess the entire material things in the entire world for you to place value on yourself. Value has nothing to do with your background nor your status but it is based on your mentality. It is by placing value on yourself that you will be able to update and keep upgrading yourself. One thing to have in mind is that if you do not give the expression of who you are, people will mistake you for who you are not. More so, the value you place on yourself is directly proportional to the value that people will place on you.

Even if you are passing through the challenging moments of your life, it is not an enough reason to look down on yourself or to see yourself as a secong-class human. You have something within you which you should be conscious of. This will help to direct both your thoughts and your actions aright in the line of your dreams. In conclusion, one should know that no one can add value beyond the level of value he places on himself. So value yourself.
