Take A Break And Rest

in WORLD OF XPILAR9 hours ago

If you use a mechanical device for a prolonged period of time without allowing it to rest, what do you expect will happen to it? Obviously, it will wear out or break down. But when you give it time to rest before reusing it, you will maximise it. This happens to the human body. If you continue to work without having time to rest, a time will come when your body cannot handle the pressure and it will break down. When that happens, all what the person have been running after will just slip right before their own eyes. This is why, when you are engaged in your active duty, you need to find time to rest.

There are some people who think that resting is a luxury or that it is not necessary. Well, I will like to remind you how necessary it is. The human body has a limit to what it can comfortably bear and trying to exceed this limit may become counterproductive. If you work and work and do not take a break to rest, your body will definitely fight back and it will not be funny. So it is better that you take willing rest and then recharge yourself for better productivity than trying to go beyond your natural physical limit and then creaking under pressure. You may not know it but rest helps your body to become better productive.

I have noticed that the choices and decisions that I make after I have rested and with a clearer mind are always worthwhile compared to the ones I made when I am tired and exhausted from the day's activities. When you rest, not only do you recharge your body but you also clear your mind off certain things that may impede your normal mental function. When the mind and body become relaxed and void of stress, then you will be amazed at what you can achieve. Trust me, rest is not an option that you can either choose or not, it is actually a necessity and a requirement that you have to undertake to get the benefits, otherwise you stand a risk of incurring the consequences of not observing it.

Where I did my internship, there was this staff who worked as if the weight of the entire human race is resting on his shoulders. His schedule of work activities in the office was from morning to late at night. This continued and even at home, he was engaged in his side hustles and still carry the remnant of the office work home to continue from where he stopped. Months passed and it began to tell on him. He thought that without him, his department will not function properly as he was the Head of Department. This made him to constantly work himself out.

Weirdly enough, in one of the days he was engaged in his active duty, he slumped and was lucky that he did not pass on from there. He was rushed to the hospital and the doctor had to give him compulsory bed rest for 1 month. Surprisingly, in the 1 month he was away from work, his department functioned so effectively well that his absence was not felt. In fact, productivity was not hampered, rather it even improved and the work went fine. When he made a full recovery and saw how the work moved and and the fact that no one missed his absence, he advised himself not to joke with rest. The same work that he almost gave his life for without resting had to move on even without him. So you see, rest is for your own good to keep you heathy today to face what tomorrow will bring.

It is worthy to note that rest is not an expression of weakness. But if you do not rest, you can open yourself to weakness. It is a mark of strength for someone to know the limit of their strength and to know that they are neither invincible nor almighty, so they need to rest and recharge themselves to become better. What rest does to the human body in terms of benefits is without question. If you know that rest is good, then it is wisdom to do it because it will bring you good.
