RE: ๐ฌ Promoting WOX's Top Commenters - Supporting Steemit's Vision Week #1
That's much more seasonal ๐ You'll need to think of what to change it to next week.
That's much more seasonal ๐ You'll need to think of what to change it to next week.
๐ฑ No pressure ๐ Either some photo to do with autumn or some random cool image. Itโs still too early for Christmas though on my way back home today my neighbours were putting up their very OTT outdoor decorations.
We've got bonfire night quickly after and then who knows? :) I've got the same pressure now that I've mentioned it to you!!
I thought of bonfire night too to be honest. I need to get some giant sparklers ๐ โBut it's a bit tricky for taking my own photo and relating it to my screen name. Not impossible though. I think I might use a pen sketch of myself ๐โโ
You could make a giant effigy of yourself (and then decide whether to set it alight) and take various photos until one take your fancy ๐๐ฅ๐งโ๐
I do like the idea of having a giant statue of myself. I think I would l๐k best carved out of marble so it probably wouldn't burn very well ๐
๐ค That would make for an interesting addition to your driveway - you could make it seasonal so dress it up as a witch now, perhaps a wooly hat and gloves after and then a santa's hat before Christmas. This could work very well.
Iโll have constant seasonal avatars! It all reminds me of Bali actually ๐ Iโve seen there Hindu statues being dressed up for holidays and other special occasions. Maybe some will start worshiping the statue and leave offerings ๐ Iโll leave a request for bird treats, they eat a lot now.
With so many birds, you'll have to clean it regularly - you know the mess that they make! ๐ฉ
๐ฑ Itโs never too early! ๐๐
I get the feeling that they don't like their neighbours. Where's the giant inflatable santa and reindeer on the roof?
Let's not give them ideas ๐ Hope they are ready to face an increased electricity bill ๐
I think you're probably lucky that only 1 house is doing it. When we used to drive to my nan's in Hounslow, there'd be 2 houses next to each other that would get more and more ridiculous every year trying to out-do each other. They're probably still doing it!
I am extremely lucky indeed! I think it will never be as bad as last year when due to the pandemic and the regulations most of us were stuck at home unless part of a bubble and people spent lots of pounds, time and effort on decorations like it could have made up for not being together with the rest of the family. I'm sure those two houses in Hounslow are still doing it and I bet they also went over the top last year.
It's a good investment ๐ They'll still have all of their decorations and no doubt, they'll be making an appearance again this year - just not in October.
I'm interested as to when your neighbours will take their decorations down? Boxing Day or do the wait until March?
Based on my last yearโs observations, most of them had the Christmas decorations on till mid January. Few then decided to keep having a wreath with some seasonal flowers on their front door. I like that as it gives me something pretty and colourful to look at when I walk past. A lavender wreath is my favourite so far ๐คฉ
I think our wreath survived until June some time ๐
