🥴 Splitting Personalities (💭, ⚽, 🏆)

Each time I write a post that isn't about football (1 in 100), I find myself interacting with a lot of new people who probably don't realise that my next 50 posts will be about football or fantasy sports. So I get a few new followers and I've got no doubt that after a few posts, they lose interest and unfollow, meaning that I miss out on the interaction I would have gotten if I didn't bang on about sport all of the time.

That's the difficulty with trying to talk about everything you love with just a single profile - random thoughts, cooking, films, games, music, travel and the plethora of sports that I watch and am interested in.

So I've decided to split my activity into 3 profiles which perhaps unusually for Steemit, I have ZERO intention of using for farming and cross-self-upvoting (not 😡👍). I simply want my followers not to lose interest when I spend 2 weeks talking about Fantasy Football!

@sporting-gorilla

sporting-gorilla.png

My 1st Split Personality is where I'll post about (you'll never guess what...) Sport. My Formula 1 Updates, Football Nostalgia, Players Behind the Shirt and my favourite, Away Day Tales along with any other sport that takes my interest will be posted under this profile so if this is of interest to you, please start following @sporting-gorilla so that we can keep the conversations going.

@fpl-gorilla

Gorilla-v2-Colours.png

My 2nd Split Personality is where I'll talk about the plethora of Fantasy Sports Contests and the regular updates I provide on them (although I haven't done last week's FPL and UCL prizes yet 😳). I also occasionally do some analysis on FPL options so again, please follow this @fpl-gorilla if this is of interest to you.

Various Trading Profiles

I've been keen to get involved with Steemit's #club5050 initiative and as with all of my activity since I've joined, going all-in with #club100. For those that are unfamiliar with this initiative, by using one of these tags, you're committing to powering up 50% of all payouts (with #club5050 hashtag), 75% of all payouts (with #club7525 hashtag) and 100% of all payouts (with #club100).

I've never withdrawn any Steem to my bank account (despite the-mrs-gorilla's insistence that she sees something for the time I spend at my computer 💻) and have instead decided to provide liquidity on the internal market with this and my own investment. This is how I fund the various Fantasy Sports Contests and the considerable prizes on offer.

However, this has made my wallet a total mess and any hope of understanding what I'm doing impossible - so I've transferred these funds to other new accounts for this sole purpose and to add clarity to my 100% power-ups. I'm all-in folks 🙂

Separator-green.png

Hopefully, I don't lose all of my followers by doing this and instead, your friends feed is filled with content that you're interested in!

When I started reading this post of yours I thought you’re @the-gorilla sort of asking around, see what people think, then sleep on it and then maybe make a decision 🤔However you already did it which I totally respect 👊 I bet you monitored similar activity which actually seems to work in the end of the day based on my observations too. It takes a while though but I guess it’s worth the wait and it certainly sounds more user friendly. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard about The Circle ⭕️ I guess you’ve not seen it and it’s not your thing. I’ve seen the US show, all seasons, guilty 🙈 I like reality shows (certainly not all of them, it’s just full of all sorts of things now). I’m always curious how far people would go. Anyway, enough about what I’m interested in, so on the latest season one of the contestants won a challenge and the award was that he got the chance to have a second profile. He was playing one character from the living room and the other character from the bedroom. He was even changing outfits 👻 But it worked. Same I reckon will happen when you split personalities here. You will make it work! I’m following all your accounts and I bet that’s what many who know you will decide to do anyway 🙌

Ha ha - I actually did very little research. It just felt right and I trust my instincts 🙂

it certainly sounds more user friendly

This is probably why it felt right 🙂

I’m pretty sure you’ve heard about The Circle ⭕️ I guess you’ve not seen it and it’s not your thing

Oh my. I've watched it a little - the-mrs-gorilla loved the 1st series. I've not watched it since though - these programs tend to attract decent people in the1st series and then they try to spice things up by just having dicks on the show.

I love the idea of changing outfits - if you go far enough back in this profile, you'll see another persona that I still use occasionally but it made me miserable so I don't user it much any more.

I bet that’s what many who know you will decide to do anyway 🙌

If they read my posts 🤣

It must be a well hidden persona @the-gorilla I scrolled back to the start of your profile. Is it maybe to do with music? Or there were two posts with a thumbnail photo of a curly haired guy wearing glasses rather than a gorilla?

I'm sure some of them, hopefully most of them, read your posts.

Is it maybe to do with music?

Nope 🙂

Hidden but still out there, watching 🕵🏻‍♂️ Well done you @the-gorilla The platform must be a safe place for all of us who create their own content and really have something to post about.

So I've decided to split my activity into 3 profiles

This is how things work in real life and in real internet. So I say you have made a good thing. Personally, I avoided subscribing you because I was afraid that, once, I'd be tired of tolerating all these sport talks. 😃 I subscribed recently after I visited your page and noticed that you post mostly non-sport entries.

When I started doing internet, I had a diary and wrote everything I wanted for my real-life friends. As soon as I started posting for a wider audience (in 2009 or so), I switched into the mode of divided topics - I had websites on dot com-s and dot ru-s. I had a cooking blog, traveling one, movies, I had a website about animals in a certain country... etc.

I thought that I still banged on about sport most of the time 😆 I don't know who I am any more. I'm so confused 🥴

I had a cooking blog, traveling one, movies, I had a website about animals in a certain country... etc.

That's quite an eclectic mix and exactly why 1 profile covering everything is so difficult. Does that mean you've split your personality too? @datych doesn't post much.

:)

Some people say this. Probably, I should start posting PowerUp reports twice a month to make these people feel satisfied ;) If seriously, I spend too much time online and not enough time for posting. There can be reasons from laziness to inefficiency and wanting of posting only better entries (instead of wanting as much rewards as possible). but the main thing is probably that I am searching a new mode, format for myself in Web 3.0. I am doing research all this year, it takes time to learn how to invest on crypto exchanges for example (I started learning crypto things from scratch in March/April 2021), now I am learning NFTs - how, where, etc. I didn't research in previous years and I lived from earnings from web, web 2.0. Then, things started getting worse - many sources of money declined.

I have one more account but not on Steemit, but in the next neighbourhood :D but not much posting there too.

Or the diary game. I've heard everybody loves the diary game.

Web 3.0 huh? What's that when it's at home? Is it just another fancy name for doing something nobody had thought of before with the same technology?

I don't understand Crypto or NFTs particularly. I know nothing about NFTs. Just that some crazy people are spending loads of money buying them. They'll probably make loads of money doing it. You'll probably make loads of money doing it 🙂

I thought it was just me.. You actually disappear into the sports world after one non-sports post. 😁

I have always found your write ups really interesting. I even tried reading sports-one multiple times but I don't know how to respond to them. (sports are not my thing)

But I'm really excited that we will get to read non-sports-gorilla again and hopefully more than before. 😁

You actually disappear into the sports world after one non-sports post. 😁

I've done 3 in a row now and am about to head back 😆

If you could write to all the profiles on a weekly basis, I think it would be somewhat tiring and create some stress if you feel compelled to post something or maybe you have that Robin or a batgirl that you will help write from time to time. My husband sometimes begs me to publish with his account and I automatically say no, because sometimes I have a writing gap and I usually go for days or weeks without writing.

Funnily enough, it's probably this account that I'll write posts with the least. @fpl-gorilla is running a lot of contests so there's always lots to talk about and if I've always got some sport on telly so have plenty to write about. I'll probably post the same amount that I did before just with the different profiles so if somebody was to look through each accounts posts (because they've found one they like), then hopefully they'll find a lot they like 🙂

My husband sometimes begs me to publish with his account and I automatically say no

I've caught a few people who have plagiarised content before and their excuse has been "I'm sorry, I asked my wife to post something" 🤣

I've caught a few people who have plagiarised content before and their excuse has been "I'm sorry, I asked my wife to post something"

😂 So if the husband does not know how to publish or does not have the imagination to write then we do not encourage him to write on our blog, that is an little credible excuse of user. 🤦‍♀️🤣

There are tools which allow you to create additional accounts, without the 15 SP delegation. I think some people have found a way around this because there are lots of fake profiles with the 15 SP delegation that regularly need removing!

We'll see how I get on - it certainly feels like a better way of finding the appropriate audience for my posts but it could fail miserably.

Can you talk about Baseball (hehe)

😴

No te gusta el béisbol ya lo vi, no hay problema, debemos hacer aquello que nos guste y nos haga sentir feliz. Un abrazo

This is a completely radical decision! Going out of the ordinary can lead to negativities, or it can also lead to the formation of a new trend. Of course, to be honest, like most people, I don't tend to read content that doesn't interest me. But what is important to me personally is that the opinions of the people I follow are valuable to me, that they communicate with me, or that I get support from them. Even if these people share content that does not interest me, I prefer to continue to follow them.

I'll be watching with interest what effect this step will have :)

It'll be interesting and I think the other profiles will find it a little tough going to start with. As @petface mentions in her comment

it certainly sounds more user friendly

which is a motivation for me too. I think it'll help me go from "generic profile" to "I'm talking about sport now" to "it's Fantasy Sports time" and attracting different users with each. I don't expect to see a huge change though 🙂

Your effort to create a more interactive and more enjoyable ambiance is very precious 🌸 I certainly believe that all gorillas will attract different users. My biggest curiosity is which gorilla will have more friends 😄

And this one has the power. Once upvotes are worth some money, people start to follow you.

As you said, power is a factor that can rapidly increase the radius of our circle of friends. Good luck to all gorillas in meeting the ones relevant to them :)

😆 This one has an unfair advantage as it's been around for a while now. @fpl-gorilla is giving away loads of Steem though so is a good one to know 🙂

Whatever the blockchain will process, you are allowed to do. So work with 1000 accounts and that's still your very private affair only.

Hola @el-gorila
Saludos 😊

unless you include photos of players hahaha

😆 Not really my thing I'm afraid!

I don't think it was necessary to create new accounts. If a person is not interested in a post, he can skip it. In addition, if you publish posts on various topics, it allows your followers to get acquainted with a new topic for them, and perhaps become interested in it. But that's just my opinion.

🤔 It was something I read about some time ago and thought it was quite a good idea - if somebody likes one of my most recent topics, it saves them scrolling 3 pages to get any similar (older) articles I've done. I often think it when I look at a profile and see nothing but Crypto Academy for example.

It also means I can write a lot more about Fantasy Sports without feeling guilty about clogging up my friends feeds 😆

In what community do you write about real football? I've seen your posts about Fantasy Football, I've seen posts about football memories, I've seen your posts in the Steem Sports community. I saw that you are a member of the World of Football community, but it is in Spanish. Is there a community in English where I can discuss the latest football events?

There will be no problems with the fact that you will have several accounts? Is this allowed?

Have you ever had someone stop following you?

I used to write quite a lot of match reports in World of Football and other random bits too (this was one of my favourites) and then became a moderator within Steem Sports so did a bit in each.

Both communities seem to be Spanish dominated now - World of Football used to be predominantly English but people only seemed interested in posting about Ronaldo or Messi so it all became rather tedious. There's also their "Verification" thing they've introduced which Steem Sports in particular are very pushy about. So I guess the best bet is to test it out and see if either appeal to you. I'm trying to grow the amount of sport discussed in World of Xpilar (using the hashtag #woxsports) which a couple of people have started using now.

There will be no problems with the fact that you will have several accounts? Is this allowed?

So long as I don't start farming with multiple accounts, I can't see it being a problem.

Have you ever had someone stop following you?

I honestly have no idea 🤷‍♂️ When I write about non-football things, I'll often get a comment or two saying they didn't know I wrote about anything other than football 😆

The WOX community has an Art Venture sub-community. Maybe for a certain group of people it would be interesting to create a football sub-community. I just don't know how to organize it. A separate tag is very good. But I imagine that I will write an article about football in WOX, it will be among the pictures and photos and most simply will not understand what such an article does here.

Alternatively, you can create an article every week, such as "Football Week # 5." Everyone can add their posts in the form of comments to this article.

There may be some better options, depending on the number of interested participants.

It's hard to know - I've been writing my content here for over a month now and most of the comments are from existing followers who I was already speaking to. I think the Fantasy Champions League attracted a few new people so perhaps it'll be a slow burn. WOX is so much more than art and photography but I think there's a perception that this is the limit to the community's scope.

We shall see. If you're interested in sports, it'd be worth experimenting and seeing which community you enjoy interacting with the most.

Steem Sports has a weekly magazine which does what you suggest, this is the most recent edition. I think it's a great addition to the community but not something that I'd have the time to write!

WOX is a great community. It is open to everyone, there is great support, it is really interesting. But I'm not an artist or a photographer, so it's extremely difficult for me to interest local readers. I'm still experimenting, so my posts are on different topics. I also love football. I used to have more time and I watched several championships, and the English Premier League as well, especially when the players of the Ukrainian national team Serhiy Rebrov (Tottenham striker), Oleg Luzhny (Arsenal defender) and Andriy Shevchenko (Chelsea striker) played there. Now I have much less time for football, I only have time to follow local teams.

I'll see, maybe I'll try to write something about football somewhere, and maybe not.

Earlier, I wanted to invite you to create a community about football. But then I realized that being a community administrator is a full-fledged job. It takes amuch time.

I had high hopes for Shevchenko when he signed for Chelsea which he didn't ever quite live up to - that didn't take anything away from what he did at AC Milan. Who's your local team and are they the team you support?

Earlier, I wanted to invite you to create a community about football.

I considered this once with a specific focus on English football (i.e. no posts about Ronaldo (at the time) or Messi) but decided it wasn't worth it with 2 communities directly or indirectly already covering the subject.

I could also se @the-gorilla to resteem the rare occasion that a topic might be interesting to a wider audience 🙂
