Esta fotografía fue tomada con la cámara de mi teléfono Samsung A32 el 25 de mayo pasado, durante un recorrido por el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Ateneo de Yucatán (MACAY) que mi hermano y yo hicimos durante el evento de la Noche Blanca.
Esta mesa perteneció a Fernando García Ponce, uno de los artistas plásticos más prominentes de Yucatán y representante a nivel regional de la corriente abstracta, así como miembro de la llamada Generación de la Ruptura, un grupo de artistas que buscaban alternativas artísticas más allá del muralismo, corriente artística que, hasta la década de 1950, dominaba el escenario del arte de México y estaba muy vinculado a la política. Sus trabajos han sido expuestos en múltiples ocasiones en galerías y museos del país; en el MACAY tiene un área de exhibición permanente, en donde se podrán observar algunos de sus trabajos más conocidos.

This picture was taken in last May 25th with my Samsung A32 phone's camera, during a tour for the Atheneum Museum of Contempary Art of Yucatan (MACAY) that my brother and I did during the White Night event.
This table belonged to Fernando García Ponce, one of the most prominent plastic artists in Yucatan and regional representative of the abstract movement, as well as a member of the called Generation of Rupture, a group of artists who sought artistic alternatives beyond muralism, an artistic school that until the 1950s, dominated the Mexican art scene and was closely linked to politics. His works have been exhibited on multiple occasions in galleries and museums in the country; the MACAY has a permanent exhibition area, where you can see some of his best-known works.
