Manifesting While Using the System, a Little Bit at a Time!

Changing the world for the better is such a popular and significant buzzphrase these days.

What comes to most people's minds is that our system — social, political, economic — is broken and we move against it to change it.

People want to tear down the wall, as it were.

While we may have lots of ideas for a utopian world driven by lovingkindness and consciousness, we must also face the fact that we live in a system that not only is not driven by those attributes, but would also not find their adoption in their interest, because that interest is pursued through instilling fear in people.

Whereas we can get all up in arms over the unfairness of the world, the path many overlook is that of using our current — albeit unfair — system and the tools it affords to change the system from within.

When we say that we want to manifest a better world, we must start with changing the framework we have so that it will actually support such a better world... otherwise we're not going to get very far.

Many of the more successful "revolutions" in life happen not so much as a result of waving placards and throwing firebombs at corporate buildings, as they happen by infiltrating the existing system from within and slowly changing it in ways that allow openings for better ways to take root.

Naturally, this is not so popular with those who are of an impatient and impetuous nature, and who want to see results immediately.

But manifesting the reality you want is seldom something that happens overnight.

I remember a friend pointing out to me that losing weight is different from how most people picture it: Chances are it took us years and years to put on that extra 40 pounds, so it's neither realistic nor healthy to think that we can lose it again in a couple of months.

Moreover, if we do embark on such a drastic program, chances are that it is not going to "stick" at the end of it... and we will end up having changed nothing.

Changing the world to a better place is a very complex proposition, and it is also going to be an incremental one — we will have to do it, a little bit at a time.

And so, manifesting what we want will have to come from small changes that add up, rather than from something huge and dramatic.

Start with yourself, locally. What can you change right now that will make a small change to your immediate surroundings? Can you keep it up?
