Hello to all who love to travel,

Again, I will introduce you to a place with a magnificent view and a great historical importance. Also, on my travel blog today, we will visit Tophane Park in Turkey/Bursa Province with you.

I will tell you the information you did not know about this place and who the important people in the tombs are. Let's start our tour without waiting too long.

Bursa Tophane History and excursion

Turkey has 81 provinces. Bursa is among these provinces. Its historical past is very important. It was the capital of the Ottoman state for 39 years. Osman Gazi, who founded the Ottoman state, wants to conquer Bursa. Bursa Castle was besieged for about 10 years. After Osman Gazi got old, he handed over his command to his son Orhan Gazi. And in order to achieve his goal, he told his son to buy this place and make his grave here.

Orhan Gazi conquers Bursa. But his father cannot see this conquest. His son fulfills his father's will. Here we will see the Tomb of Osman Gazi, the founder of the Ottoman state, and his son Orhan Gazi.

This place, which is on the high hill of Bursa, allows us to see all of Bursa. I took panoramic photos for you. It is possible to see the whole place with wide-angle photography.

Clock Tower

There is also a clock tower that we can see here. This tower, which is 33 meters high, can be seen from most places. You can also see 5 cannons at the bottom of the tower.

The name Tophane comes from here. Tophane means the place where the cannons are located. It was built in 1905 as 6 floors. They used to use it as a fire watchtower.

Osman Gazi - Orhan Gazi Tombs

There is the Tomb of Sultan Osman Gazi, the founder of the Ottoman State, and the tombs of many famous people next to it. During my visit here, I saw something different but impressive.

There were guards in Ottoman clothing standing in front of the tomb. These guards used to stand guard there every day out of respect. Just as we were entering the tomb, there were changes of guard. This scene had a huge impact on me. Because the dagger guards that came in all their glory were attracting all the attention. They talked to each other during the takeover. Then the person who took the watch waited at the entrance of the tomb without blinking.

You can watch the changing of the guard video here. In order to make the trip more meaningful, I recommend you to watch the video here.

In the tomb, the Quran is read every hour of the day. Muslims pray to Allah in this tomb.

Sultan Orhan Gazi conquered Bursa in 1326. You can see the Tomb of his father and himself here. The mosaics on the ground in this tomb are from the Byzantine period and have a history of 1000 years.
