The Finnish immigrated to the vast woods around Kongsvingerregionen during the 1600’s and forward. Many of their building traditions did not yet exist in Norway then. The forest Finns saunas and houses for drying of grain – “rie” – have all been unique buildings in Norway for almost 400 years.

Enjoy the pictures 🌞

The buildings has been for 400 years wow and they are still in good condition. This is amazing, I love the view nice photograph. The lake and everything this looks like a really good place to stay and enjoy peace and quiet. We bearly have woodened houses here in my country so seeing this amazes me and fact that it's been for years. Thanks for sharing this I'm glad I came across your post.

Very beautiful @xpilar, I bet that those cabins are warm inside though they don't seem to use electricity :D

they kept some of the cold out in the winter

That must be the houses that built without nails, despite of being old still looking quite good. It is a good idea to keep the houses and museum :)
