RE: What to Do in Case of Identity Theft? / Was tun bei Identitätsdiebstahl?

in Steemit Feedback2 years ago

I never thought that such a scam could happen. But just last week, I was exposed to this incident. I was confused about what to do at first. Similarly, I created an account with a different username and wrote a comment under each post. I also wrote to Hivewatchers from Discord and this user has been blacklisted. I even felt lucky to have spotted this scammer early. However, there is still a concern that our content may be stolen with a different username. So I started to feel a little paranoid after this incident.

Sort:

Dein Account ist wie gemacht für solchen Betrug
Du selbst hast viel Arbeit investiert und jemand anderes will auf Hive rewards ernten
Hast Du schon mal auf Blurt nachgesehen?

Your account is made for such fraud

You yourself have invested a lot of work and someone else wants to reap rewards on Hive
Have you ever checked Blurt?

Edit: I just checked Blurt because your account doesn't exist.

Thank you for your interest. I checked Blurt, that username is not there. But I couldn't create a new account

Yes, I read your article (and can very well understand the paranoia). You have been helped in that the culprit can no longer do anything. At least not with your nickname... An "instance" helped you on Hive. Very good! And you knew who to contact, which was probably told to you by an active Hive user. Very good!
And that's what this article is about: What do we do when a Hive user asks us for help because someone is using their name on the Steem and stealing their content? I don't know and I don't get an answer that could help immediately in a concrete way, like you were helped. I don't want to say "Tough luck!" to anyone.

I don't know if there is an easier way to control this and deal with these scammers. It looks like this is what can be done for now. I also believe that the people who did this are organized gang.🤔
