THE DIARY GAME: 10/04/2021 - Travelling To The Capital City of Ghana
Dear diary,
Today has been very hectic for me. I had to wake at 4:00am in order to get to VIP Jeuon Station at Asafo-Kumasi. I work as a teacher in Accra and that's where I was heading to. I was in Kumasi to see my family after taking short leave from work.
Travelling from Kumasi to Accra normally takes 4 hours by road and less than an hour by flight. Usually I will take the express mini bus but this time round I decided to take the V. I. P bus, which is one of the luxurious buses in Ghana. I paid ¢40 for the fare and 30 cedis for my luggage. We set off at 7:00am and I was hopeful we will be in Accra by 11:00. Today being Saturday means the road will not be busy since a lot of people rerely travel on weekends. There was no traffic jam and the journey was indeed a smooth one.
It has been the usual practice of buses to stop in-between journeys or at certain spots for passengers to stretch and buy snacks. We stopped at Linda Dor for 10 ten minutes before the bus took off again. We got to this place at exactly 10,which means we had just an hour or more to reach Accra. Getting there early or late all depends on the driver and inconveniences on the road.
I am the type of person who loves to take more water before breakfast. I bought one mineral water and look what I found.. one of my favorite delicacies. I felt so good to have found this food at the pub; fried yams and some Kebabs. I knew there was no way I was going to skip this so I grabbed some of the yams and kebab for myself. The bus wouldn't wait any longer after five minutes, passengers had to rush in take their seat.
The last stop for the bus is at Kwame Nkrumah Circle but I would alight at Ofankor, where I live. Ofankor is a one of the towns around Accra. Checking the time I knew I have just minutes now to unboard the bus. I dozed off many times since I couldn't have enough sleep over the night but i have to be alert in order not to miss my destination. Though the bus seats have been ergonomically designed to give comfort but I was already exhausted after sitting in the bus for 4 hours. Thank God! I arrived safely at Ofankor at exactly 12:10, though expected to arrive earlier than this time.
Thank God for safe Journey
We thank God you had a safe journey, i miss Linda Dor's food, i need to visit Accra soon haha
That is nice diary game. Actually the journey from Kumasi to Accra should be like 2 hrs if the make the road to be double road. Many drivers drive carelessly too.
