However, Malaysia is currently under Full Lockdown and so I hope these photos are good enough to introduce you to my five favorite places for Steem Women Club Contest 20 ~ 5 Favorite Places in Your City by @steemwomensclub.

My Five Favorite Places in the Kuala Lumpur City

My five favorite places in the City of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia are the Pavilion Shopping Mall, Saloma Link, Petronas Twin Towers, Titiwangsa Lake Garden and Perdana Botanical Garden.

1. Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Shopping Mall

I especially like to go here to just hang out drink coffee and watch movies but sadly the Pavilion GSC Cinema has been closed permanently affected by the pandemic. So I will go here just to eat at my favorite restaurants. Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is a world-class, award-winning shopping center blending the best of international and local retail, situated in the Bukit Bintang district in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Pavilion Kuala Lumpur has over 700 stores spread over ten levels in fashion, food, and urban leisure.

The Pavilion Crystal Fountain is located at the entrance of the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in Bukit Bintang. The fountain made its entry to the Malaysia Book of Records as the tallest Crystal Fountain in Malaysia, standing at 3.6m (height). The fountain design featured the Hibiscus, the national flower of Malaysia whilst the three crystal bowls which were crafted in Shanghai China represent Malaysia’s races and cultures living harmoniously in unity. Pavilion KL designers worked in collaboration with Liuligongfang to create this awesome tourist attraction and landmark of Kuala Lumpur.

Also worth highlighting is the festive decorations at this shopping mall is one of the best in Malaysia. And here are some photos of the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Shopping Mall, hope you will like it!

2. Pintasan Saloma or Saloma Link

What3Words: https://w3w.co/droplet.bench.towns

I love this beautiful bridge, it feels like this bridge is an accessory to this big city. There is something about great architecture, they always made you think about how did they build that great building or structure. The amazing bridge called Pintasan Saloma or Saloma Link was opened in 2020 and is the longest single-span steel structure elevated walkway in Malaysia. The bridge has become one of the iconic structures in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre.

Saloma Link is a 69 meters combined pedestrian and bicyclist bridge across the Klang River in Kuala Lumpur. The overall length of the Pintasan Saloma is 370 meters and the main structure of the Pintasan Saloma is the covered elevated pedestrian walkway that spans 69 meters across the Klang River and AKLEH Highway. The Pintasan Saloma is the main pedestrian walkway that connects the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) and Kampung Baru. It joins the districts of Kampung Baru and Kuala Lumpur City Centre.

The bridge’s architecture is inspired by the Sirih Junjung arrangements (betel nut leaves arrangement) which are traditionally offered in the ceremony as a symbol of unity among the Malays. Malay uses Sirih Junjung as a symbolic gift exchange between the bride and the groom's family. The curved steel roof canopy which consists of 4,100 diamond facade panels and equipped with state of the art lighting to illuminate the bridge during the night time which makes it more attractive and unique.

The name 'Saloma' is derived from the legendary singer Saloma (Wife of the late Tan Sri P Ramlee, a Malaysian legendary artist). Saloma was buried in the nearby Cemetery which you will need to pass by when you are walking to the bridge from Public Bank side.

And here are some photos of the Saloma Link, hope you will like it!

3. Petronas Twin Towers

KLCC or PETRONAS TWIN TOWER is one of the top tallest building in the world with its height 1,483 feet and 88 levels. The eye-catching feature is the skybridge which links up both the towers on the 41st and 42nd level. We are still growing with lots of construction of magnificent buildings here and there, but all the buildings in the world still cannot compete with The Petronas Twin Towers. This building looks so majestic from any angle. You can stand anywhere and still get this magnificent view of this tower. I don't know but after many years since it was built in 1993, I have not grown tired of looking at this building, it made me so proud looking at it. That old building is still the tallest twin towers in the world.

I especially come here to eat, there are many good restaurants in this building inside the shopping mall that is called Suria KLCC. After dark, head to the lake front for a colorful fountain dance show. And here are some photos of the Petronas Twin Towers and Suria KLCC, hope you will like it!

4. Taman Tasik Titiwangsa or Titiwangsa Lake Garden

What3Words: https://w3w.co/writing.agents.places

I will come here to do my brisk walking activities, this place is the best place to do my morning exercise with dedicated jogging tracks in the lush greenery. Best of all, it is in the middle of the city and is so easy to access. The garden was officially opened in 1980 feature a large central lake that was a byproduct of tin mining activities before being developed into a park. The park spreads across an area of 95 hectares with 57 hectares of the lake. It is an attractive and well-maintained park in Kuala Lumpur with a wide range of recreation facilities and things to do for the whole family.

And here are some photos of the Titiwangsa Lake Garden, hope you will like it!

5. Perdana Botanical Garden

What3Words: https://w3w.co/oiled.common.congas

This place is a weekend family outing haven. You can bring your family and just enjoy the green lung in the city. Surrounding this garden are some tourist attraction place such as museums, bird park and butterfly park. It is so huge that you need to spend a few days just to complete visiting all of them. I did some shortcuts by taking the mini tramp, I think I paid RM20 for a ride. After they have issued you the paper wristband tickets, then you can basically take the ride on and off the whole day.

The Perdana Botanical Garden formerly known as Taman Tasik Perdana is located in the Heritage Park of Kuala Lumpur. Measuring 91.6 hectares, the Garden has always been regarded as the green lung of the city with a history spanning over a decade since being established in 1888. Originally created as part of a recreational park but planted with collections of tropical plants, the garden has been rehabilitated and turned into a Botanical Garden.

As soon as you enter this park, you are welcome by the sound of birds, and the sound of breeze that brushes against the trees. You can see some squirrels running and jumping from tree to tree. It can be quite hypnotizing watching birds and listening to those chirping sounds that you won't want to leave this place. You are attracted to explore more when suddenly you realize that you have spent a few hours here, and then you think as you have just arrived yet time flies so fast here because this place is the best getaway place from that chaotic urban life.

I found some very unique plants but I have no idea of the names of some of these plants, only known for those plants with nameplates. For nature lovers, this place is a haven away from the havoc of urban life. One of its attraction is the Golden Canopy that was made of triangular-shaped glass pieces with yellow frames and some opaque pieces to provide shades from the scorching Sun. There is plenty of space to chill out and relax underneath this giant canopy while listening to the sound of nature.

I also found the Sunken Garden and I could not express how I felt so ecstatic to have found this beautiful garden. The Sunken Garden as its given name is a parterre garden in the Perdana Botanical Garden Kuala Lumpur. This fairly new addition was added to the park attraction and it was once a children’s playground before being turned into a parterre garden. This beautiful parterre circular garden spread beautifully in a sunken area surrounded by pergolas, hence was given its name the Sunken Garden and you literally have to go down some steps to enter this sunken garden area.

And here are some photos of the Perdana Botanical Garden, hope you will like it!
