Tutoring The Students How To Bake Chocolate Cupcakes

Hi SteemWomen Club!

It's been a while. How have you been?

Have you ever sensed that lovely smell of a chocolate cake or fresh warm bread coming out of the oven when you pass by a bakery shop, and have that urging feeling to eat or at least taste it? Well anyway, I'm gonna be sharing with you today my 2-hour baking session with my students.

Personally, I'm a no fan of baking. I hadn't found it even entertaining. As for me, baking is so crucial that you need to strictly follow certain rules to have what you'll bake be perfectly done, like avoiding ingredients substitution as much as possible, measuring the ingredients both liquid and dry accurately, and not just with your estimations. It felt like it has fixed patterns, that once you messed up with even one, then you can no longer expect a perfectly baked one.

But I am learning to love it as there's a need of me to deal with it almost everyday from the moment I stepped into the teaching job and be one of the teachers who'd be teaching the skill.

Now, I am so glad that everything turned out okay. So let's get started.

* * *

The students are learning how to bake cupcakes, and for this one, it's chocolate. They were also baking a lot in carrot and banana-raisins.

For a single class, there are around 50 students, and it's hard to cater them all at once since the laboratory can only cater to a maximum of 30 students per session. So, groupings were made and each of the group has a maximum of 5 members.

The prepping

Each of the member has a role in every baking and cooking task. Some measures the ingredients while others prepare the cupcake sheets, but all still observing what's goin' on.

The mixing

After the initial preparations, the students are all gathered in one station to observe how all the ingredients are mixed together to produce a perfect batter for the chocolate cupcakes.

The portioning of the chocolate batter

The perfectly mixed chocolate batter are now portioned to the empty cupcake sheets. The students just use a dinner spoon for the scooping and portioning. Each cupcake sheet is filled with just half a tablespoon of the batter.

The oven-ready chocolate cupcake batter

The students are now done to almost the last step of the task. The cupcakes are baked for about 25 minutes in the preheated oven.

The students' chocolate cupcakes

Viola! They're done! Aren't these droolin'?

It's so fulfilling and gratifying to see that excitement and delight in the students' faces as they are accomplishing the task. It's their first time doing such, and I felt so honored to be a part of their first baking experience.

Well, that's all for this post. I hope you find it worth reading. Thank you for your time. See you in my next post. Stay tuned!
