Greetings to you all dear ladies and the entire members of steemwomens club community, trust you are all doing great? I am glad to share my diary for today, Sunday 9th of January, 2021. It is a day that I enjoyed a lot as I was able to practice what I learned from the village from my bid Sister, joining our Christian meeting and strolling out to ease off for the day. You will find it interesting if you read till the end. Let's see how it goes

MY MORNING ACTIVITIES

I usually wake up very early to check up on my steemit notifications and to reply to massages. I as well worked on steemkids community by upvoting the publications that needed to be upvoted since the account recharged that early. By early I mean 2am. Don't mind me. I can work at any time so long as my eyes are clear. Hahaha, sometimes I make some mistakes due to sleep. But I didn't make such mistake today, my eyes was very clear.

Yes after that I read the portion of the scripture that was meant for today which is James 1:19 which encouraged me to be quick to listen and slow to speak. Which means that I need to be patient with all. It is a wonderful quality that all need to apply in our dealings with our friends and those around us.

After my morning devotion, I took my morning green tea that I prepared. I boiled utazi leaf and scent leaf and took as morning tea

I was soon time to join our Christian meeting through zoom video conferencing. However, we took rive for breakfast.

During the meeting, I learned that it is possible for love to conquer hatred, I also learned that the Almighty shows Loyal Love only to those who are in a special relationship with him while he shows love to all humans.

The meeting ended few minutes to the noon.

MY AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES

I quickly ran into the kitchen to prepare African salad. Yes, it is true that I have been preparing African salad. But I learned this pattern from my bid Sister when I was with her in the village.

Ingredients for her pattern of African salad

  • Beans. This is a special type of beans which I myself have not seen before or I have not taken note of it. You first cook the means till it softens

  • I then socked the dried flacks of cassava in a cold water to soften it since it was dried for preservation.

I then got other ingredients ready. I used

Palm oil
Crayfish
Dried chilli pepper
Traditional nutmeg
Onions
Seasoning cube
Fresh tomatoes
Utazi leaf
Salt

I roasted crayfish, chilli pepper to turn brown or even close to black. So she told me and I later grinded them together.

Then I placed a frying pan on the fire, added palm oil. When it heated up a little, I added all the ingredients apart from the vagies which I sliced for garnishing.
I added onions crayfish, traditional nutmeg, salt, seasoning cube and pepper.

Then I stirred continuously until they release their flavors to the oil. Then I put the cassava flackes in a big pot, turned the palm oil and the ingredients in the cassava flackes, stared to make sure the oli go round. I then checked for salt. When the taste was ok, I then scooped in a plate and garnished

After enjoying the meal, I and the family decided to stroll out to unknown destination but we ended up at the Udo Udoma field. While @benton3 and @wizzyboy3 were playing football, I and @madilyn02 and @fortwis09 strolled around looking for where to take pictures. See out pictures

We spent some time there before going back home but we still drove around the vicinity across the road where we have banking layout.

Going back home, I took this cup of juice below with mixed fruits flavor. It was given to me by my cousin in the village. It came in powered form but you need to dissolve in water and refrigerate.

I will really love to make the African salad but the beans is looking like something I can't easily get. Can I still make the salad without the beans or I can use the normal beans available?

The beans is locally grown in Igbo land. It is known as akidi. But if you can't find it, you can prepare it alone. I don't know of alternative beans.
