Good day Steemians, it's another beautiful week, trust you all are doing great. This is the third week of Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 4 and I'm so delighted to start the journey of this week here in this community. The topic for this week's contest is A Smile To Change The World, and today I will be sharing with you my understanding of Happiness, Importance of Happiness, and what makes me smile.
Brief Discussions about Happiness
Happiness can be defined as an emotional state of being fulfilled, contented, satisfied, and joyous. Happiness can come when one achieves something, when we feel satisfied with our lives, being in the midst of people we love like family, and also doing what we love the most.

People that have feelings of happiness are always positive-minded even when things are not going right, they are also keen on their positive energy and do not allow their problem to take away their joy.
Psychologists and some scientists refer to happiness as subjective well-being which talks to individuals that have satisfaction in their lives and do experience and shows positive feeling like contentment, hope, and joy.
There are two important components of happiness and these two keys are:
Emotional Balance: This can be defined as a state of being conscious of her emotion and being able to control the emotion in a good, gentle and wise way. Both positive and negative emotions would come based on what we are passing through but the way we manage it positively helps a lot when we talk about happiness.
Satisfaction of Life: This implies how we do feel satisfied in our areas of life such as achievement, relationships, and so on.
Types of Happiness
The two types of Happiness are:
Hedonia: This happiness is being obtained from pleasure, it has to do with us doing what we love, fulfilling one's desires, enjoying, and feeling a sense of contentment.
Eudaimonia: This one is gotten from seeking goodness, virtue, and significance, it has to do with our value and purpose when our plans are going the way we propose it. This happiness is related to fulfilling responsibilities.
Examples of happiness are Joy, Excitement, Pride, Gratitude, Optimism, and Contentment
What makes you smile?
There are so many reasons behind my smile and today I would be mentioning them one after the other.
Gift of Life and Healthy Living: Every morning when I wake up from my sleep, I always smile thinking God has blessed me again this morning with the gift of life and good health because being alive and healthy is a very great gift that money can not buy. It is only the living that has plans and is hopeful.
My Family: Family is everything, talking to them alone gives me a sense of satisfaction, positive energy, and emotion. They show me unconditional love and know they are in good condition do make me smile and feel satisfied, with them being in my life, nobody can destroy my happiness.

Helping People: Though I might not have much, I have so many desires to help people and anytime I render help to people, I feel happy and satisfied because I do believe if I don't do it someone else will.
Seeing my Client get Better and Happy: You know happiness is contagious right? Yes, it is, I have experienced pain and I know it's not something good, seeing patients getting better does make me feel so happy because them getting better means they will soon be perfectly fine. Because of this, even after being discharged, I do keep on checking on them, asking about their health, and praying along with them.

My Job: I love my job and I always feel happy knowing I'm doing my possible best in saving the life of people.
Achievement: Any time I achieve something, I always feel happy especially when my plan came out successful. I could remember my school days, whenever I lay out a plan and it came out to be successful, I do feel joyful and satisfied. Also seeing the people around me achieving greatly does make me smile.
Importance of happiness
Happiness is important as it has so many benefits to our body, life growth, and health. Happiness helps and promotes a healthy lifestyle which includes,
The happiest moment of your childhood.
The happiest moment of my childhood was when I traveled to Lagos to spend my holiday with my grandpa. Being there I don't hawk as I do at home, grandpa did pamper us with goodies and gifts daily, he took me and my cousins to the playing ground, I played and always enjoyed my holiday. Anytime the school is about to close for the third term holiday, I used to be very happy because I know I would travel to my grandpa's place. My grandpa is late now but the memories of those beautiful moments still linger in my heart.
Happiest moment currently (no more than 2 years ago
One of my current happiest moments was during my last year's birthday. I was so happy that day because I was treated with love and care, though I do celebrate in my little way by eating my favorite meal, offering gratitude to God, and getting something nice for myself.

But last year I was given the best treatment by my boyfriend, he got me a new dress, shoes, cake and took me out on a date. Like I said earlier I always celebrate my day in my way but seeing someone celebrate my day for me with so much affection and care makes me so happy.
If happiness were a color, which would you associate it with?
If happiness were a color I would love to associate it with yellow. Yellow color can be matched or compared with the sunlight which makes the day warm, clear, and lively. Yellow symbolizes Joy, warmth, sunshine, and optimism.

Temi dear, with happiness we are free from anything that is sent to destroy us because of the joyful state that we always have which gives us the ability to handle any situation with ease.
Having true hapiness is what most people do not understand, true happiness is found within and among the smallest little things but most importantly its found and given by God.
All the best!
