Hello friends of this community,

Today, I’d like to share some photos I took yesterday. Lately, I haven’t been posting much on Steemit simply because I’ve been taking it easy and stepping back from social media a bit. As many of you know, I also manage a YouTube channel and other social pages, and I realized that it was starting to stress me out, and I was probably at risk of burnout.
That’s why, after quite some time, I went on a lovely 10 km hike yesterday. Despite starting in the early afternoon when it was very hot, and finding it quite strenuous, I was rewarded, as always, by the beautiful views I enjoyed from atop these hills.

I began my hike in Sossano, a village in the province of Vicenza, nestled at the foot of the Berici Hills. These small hills formed close to the city of Vicenza. I’ve brought you along on this journey before, but as I always say, each walk reveals something new.

In fact, I was drawn by a sign indicating the remains of Roman houses. After following trails into the woods, I saw something, but nature has reclaimed much of what humans once built there, so there wasn’t much to see. I suspect the sign referred to something more recent, partially abandoned, and as you know, abandoned things are eventually reclaimed by nature.

I continued my hike, and my altimeter showed I was reaching about 300 meters in altitude. Despite the persistent heat and humidity, making it a tough walk, I pushed on. I need to come here either early in the morning or late in the evening when it’s cooler.

As I’ve mentioned in other posts, I love hiking in these places, though one must be cautious of wildlife, such as wild boars. They can be quite aggressive, especially females with their young. I usually make some noise while walking to keep them at bay.

I reached the hilltop, from where I could see the Euganean Hills, which aren’t far away, and enjoyed the view of the surrounding plains. After resting for several minutes, eating something energizing, and drinking some water, I resumed my hike and started descending back to where I had parked my car.

Today’s experience was wonderful. For instance, I noticed some caves or cavities I hadn’t seen before, or new insects and flowers. There’s always something new that nature offers.
I hope my story was interesting, not just with words but also with the photos. Have a great weekend, and see you next time!
