A Brief Story of a Rag Doll

Once upon a time, there was a doll
Half a meter tall.
Graceful, beautiful,
But poorly dressed.
A sad air — a bitterness
Diluted in her gaze...
Large sapphire eyes,
And a weary smile
Like a flower about to wilt.

Almost in the middle of the display
Of that little shop,
This rag doll
Caught no one's eye!
No one saw her smile!
No one even asked:
How much for the “ragdoll”?
How much for the “Princess”?

Years passed — along with them,
My youth,
And my sadness grew.

Who will pay for the Doll
That my eyes once discovered
In that little shop
Near the corner of the garden?
Who will pay for Her? No one.
And how many souls are like that!
