kitchen needs shopping activity Thursday 8 August 2024

Today I decided to go to the traditional market where I often need to shop for kitchen needs. Since morning the air outside feels so fresh and I feel excited to visit the market. At 7 am I was ready with a shopping list and shopping bags that I had packed.

When I arrived at the market, I was immediately greeted by the hustle and bustle of the morning atmosphere, the smell of fresh vegetables and fruit greeted me. Coupled with the distinctive aroma of spices, this traditional passr always has its own charm, with various aromas and sounds that become part of the shopping experience.

The first step I took was to the vegetable section, here I saw rows of stalls filled with various types of fresh vegetables. The bright colors of peppers, tomatoes and carrots stand out in the morning sun. I approached the busiest stall, where mother and father were looking at vegetables. I chose a few bunches of spinach, a bunch of kale and some tomatoes that looked tempting. The sellers at this stall are very friendly and patient, they need to choose the best vegetables and give tips on how to store them to keep them fresh.

After that, I headed to the fruit section, here the sweet aroma of fruit such as bananas, oranges and others filled the air, I bought some fresh oranges and salak and several other fruits. I was also interested in the bright red dragon fruit, the sales person was happy to explain how to choose perfectly ripe dragon fruit and how to serve it.

With the bag starting to get heavy, I continued my journey to the herbs and spices section, here various spices were neatly arranged in small containers, the smell of garlic, ginger and turmeric mixed in a distinctive aroma, I bought some basic spices such as shallots, garlic and a few pieces of ginger for cooking purposes. The sellers here also carefully explain the uses of various spices and provide cooking tips.

Before I went home from the market, I took the time to stop by the fish and shrimp stall, here I also chose some fresh shrimp and fish, this stall is also one of my favorite places because the owner always maintains the cleanliness and quality of the fish being sold. I also bought some beautiful free-range chicken eggs which were fresher and tastier.

Even though I'm a little tired today, this shopping experience at a traditional market is always fun. Apart from getting fresh ingredients, I can also interact directly with the sellers, learn many new things and experience a market atmosphere that is different from supermarkets. Traditional markets always offer warmth and authenticity that cannot be found anywhere else. This is a part of the routine that I always look forward to. That's all my game diary activities when shopping at traditional markets for kitchen needs.
