Alphabet Hunt For The Letter W

in Feel Good4 years ago

Hello my fellow Alphabet Hunters. This week we search for the "W". Again this letter brings so much abundance to our hunt this week. This will definitely be a good one for all us. Special thanks to @barbara-orenya for this wonderful initiative. Please click on the link here to know more about this Challenge. This is actually the second to the last week of this Challenge as the next letters, X Y Z, will be a combined hunt. After which, I think the Challenge ends unless, of course, a new one is initiated. Still not too late to join though.

These are my hunting trophies for the week.

The first "W" is for Wig

These were taken almost 3 years ago when my daughter and I shopped around for wigs. Here she is trying on one.

The second "W" is for Waves

The first wave photo is in Siargao, Philippines in the Magpupungko Rock pools. The second is yours truly, moi, jogging along Davao City's Baywalk on a windy, wavy and wet morning. (That's 3 extra "W" words as bonus :))

The third "W" is for Wrought Iron

As opposed to cast iron, wrought iron is iron that has been heated and then worked with tools and allowed to cool, while cast iron is iron that has been melted, poured into a mold, and allowed to cool. Wrought iron may again be reheated so further work can be done, especially for the more intricate designs, then cooled down again. In fact it is normal for some wrought iron to have been reheated and cooled multiple times. The term “wrought” is derived from the past participle of the word “worked.”

Photo above shows a table stand we had fabricated for us with wrought iron as frame support.

The fourth "W" is for Wall Clock

I took these pictures from a home depot we visited to buy some floor tiles.

Here's another peacock wall clock.

The fifth "W" is for Wreath

image.png
Photo above is another work in progress by my wife. It's a wreath which she intends to hang by the front door. But it's not yet finished.

The next photo is a recent capture in one of the malls in our place. The Christmas season is upon us and most malls are now beginning to place yuletide decorations to liven up the place.

The sixth "W" is for Whale

image.png
Photo above is a cross stitch work by my wife. It's a Sperm Whale. She made this years ago and was stored in her box of other cross stitched works when she remembered this for the W hunt and suggested I use it. (Not a smiling whale, though, as what @barbara-orenya had but from the looks of it, a happy one.)

The picture above is another whale, a Narwhal, painted by my daughter using acrylic paint. This was one of her first works with acrylic, she being more concentrated on colored pencil and water color illustrations.

And there you have it for my W hunt catches. Hope you like them. I will be over to your blogs too in the next days to check on yours. I'm sure they will all be good and I am very excited to see them. Have a blessed weekend everyone! Stay safe.
