Hey guys I'm back with a new update on Steemcryptic. If you are not aware of this tool that I've been working on, you can check it out by heading over to https://www.steemcryptic.me.

Let me start explaining this update like I usually do, with the problem, followed by the solution and the future updates.

Problem:

Last week, the steemit team announced the #club5050 initiative to help stabilize the SBD price while at the same time reducing the total liquid Steem in the open market. This was very well explained by professor @sapwood in his Cryptoacademy assignment S4Week7 course. So, I would suggest you definitely head over to his post and check out the importance of this initiative.https://steemit.com/hive-108451/@sapwood/crypto-academy-season-4-or-advanced-course-week-7-steem-blockchain-stu-reputation-author-curator-ratio-etc

While it was a great initiative, it was extremely difficult to actually calculate the SBD earned and the amount powered up during the same period. One would either have to manually scroll through steemscan or check out transfers on steemworld.

In today's fast-paced world, getting the data you need in one click is so much better than having to do a bunch of calculations by yourself. Steemcryptic now has a too called Club5050 that does exactly that!

Solution:

Here is an example of how the new tool works

Club5050 tool can be accessed by going to https://www.steemcryptic.me/club5050
Steemcryptic now has a tool specific to #club5050. Anyone can now enter a user's account name, fill in the date fields, and hit the button. Within a few seconds, Steemcryptic fetches the rewards and transfers data from the SDS node of @steemchiller, does a few calculations, and displays it in the UI in the form of the total Assets that were involved and also a Pie chart with the USD conversion%.

Future Updates:

I decided to push ahead with the release of club5050 by a couple of weeks. Initially, this was not due for release till the end of the first week of Novermber. However, as the entire process of calculating metrics for #club5050 wasn't very easy, I decided to release it after a few rounds of testing.

Does this mean that the calculations might be wrong? Nope! The only thing that might go wrong is a bit of exception handling that might be missing in a few edge-case scenarios. I would be releasing another patch including all the error handling code later this week.

Bug Fix: Version 3.2.1 deployed

There was a bug that caused an incorrect % calculation. @sapwood brought this to my notice. This has been fixed now and Steemcryptic is now running on Version 3.2.1 now.

Bug Fix: Version 3.2.2 deployed:

The caching mechanism that was previously used by the tool ended up messing up some of the calculations. I have now removed the cache mechanism entirely and would be bringing it back once the issue with refreshing data is fixed.

Thank you so much for this update. It will definitely help the professors curating tasks in SCA on the premise of #club505 and will save a lot of time.

Good development.

Will you be joining #club5050 yourself?

Yes. I would be joining #club5050 from this week onwards.

80,714.1% - Now that's leading by example 😆

Great work @starlord28 👍

Thank you! Wow! that % seems to be off. Let me have a look.

It's great, I adore this tool and willing to use it while checking posts of the members. If the tool shows slightly a bit over 50% not powered up, the account requires manual check though - it might mean that the user recently received the reward. I think it's the most effective while checking long-term transactions, like for a whole month.

Agreed. Additionally, the tool does not consider any giveaways that many might be doing. While it is easy for me to filter out the funds going out to exchanges, it is impossible for me to know if the user has a genuine giveaway. Many might try and game the system by creating alternate accounts and that would not help the genuine people who are actually powering up.
