SEC-S18W6: Once upon a time when I was a child!

Childhood is a magical time of discovery and innocence, where every day is an adventure filled with unforgettable moments. Through this series of photographs, I will take you on a journey through my childhood, sharing precious memories and stories that marked this period of my life.
I begin this journey with a photo of myself at 8 months old, sitting on a bed. My parents often told me how I spent hours discovering the world with my little hands and my curious eyes. This photo reminds me of the softness and security of the family home, where every object was a fascinating discovery. It is a memory that evokes the pure innocence of childhood and the first connections with my environment.
This photo captures a special moment with my brother Dali. We were inseparable, sharing games and laughter. Dali has always been my adventure companion, and together we explored our little world with wonder and joy. There is a natural complicity which can be seen in this photo, and which marked our childhood years. Whether playing hide and seek in the garden or building sandcastles, every moment with Dali was a treasure.
This image shows me with my grandfather during a visit to the zoo in 1985. My grandfather was a wise and kind man who loved sharing his knowledge about animals and nature. This visit to the zoo remains one of my fondest memories, where I learned to appreciate the beauty and diversity of wildlife. His fascinating stories and patience awakened in me a curiosity about the natural world that remains with me today.
This image shows me, my brother Dali and my sister Khaoula, in our grandparents' house. These moments spent together playing and laughing in this house full of love and warmth remain engraved in my memory. Khaoula, who now lives in Montreal, was always our little princess. The days spent with our grandparents were filled with games in the garden, delicious snacks and stories told by the fire. These moments forged indelible memories and strong family bonds.
This photo marking my circumcision symbolizes an important rite of passage in my culture. Although it is a solemn moment, it is also filled with celebration and the love of my family. That day, I felt a mixture of pride and nervousness, surrounded by my loved ones. The ceremony, although marked by rites, was also an opportunity for family gathering, where I was able to feel the strength of the bonds that unite us.
This photo, taken during Eid, shows me at the age of 3 with my brother Dali. Eid was always an exciting time, full of feasts and family gatherings. We were dressed in our best clothes, ready to celebrate this special holiday with joy and happiness. I remember the delicious scents of the dishes prepared by my mother and the bursts of laughter shared around the table. These holidays have always been synonymous with warmth and family love.
This last photo is from my first year at school. The first days of school were filled with excitement and a little nervousness. It was the beginning of my educational adventure, where I began to learn and grow in a nurturing and encouraging environment. The memories of that first year are still vivid, from the friends I made to the lessons learned that laid the foundation for my educational journey.
This is a photo from my first year of college. It was a time of transition and new challenges, but also new friends and learning. I was excited about the possibilities and new experiences that awaited me. Entry into college marked an important step, a step towards independence and self-discovery. The first days were filled with apprehension, but also excitement for everything I was going to learn.
My childhood was a period of happiness, discoveries and unforgettable moments. These photographs are witnesses of this wonderful time, when every day was a new adventure. I hope you enjoyed this journey through my childhood memories and brought back cherished memories of your own childhood.
