SLC22-W2 / Ramas del Derecho.
Assalam O Alaikum.
Hello my steemit friends i hope you are all doing wells today i am participating in a contest related to the fascinating topic of the branches of laws. Law is a system of rules that helps organized society and protects everyones rights. In this post i will shared my understanding of public and private laws highlight laws from my country and their respectives branches explain which branch of law i find most interesting and conclude with a real-life experience related to one of the branches of law. Let's get started!
Part I:
-. According to what was explained in class, according to the law or laws of your country, indicate two examples of public law and two examples of private law, and explain why you consider that these rights are part of public law and private law.
Public Law
Public law deals with the relationship betweens individuals and the governments. Here are two examples from my country:
Criminal Law: In Pakistan the Penal Code is a well-known example of criminal law. It defines offenses like thefts murder and fraud and their punishments criminal law is considered part of publics law because it protects society as a wholes. The governments prosecutes offenders to ensure public safety.
Constitutional Law: The Constitution of Pakistan is another example of public law. It defines the roles and powers of governments institutions and guarantees fundamentals rights to citizens this law falls under publics law because it governs the relationships between the state and its citizens.
Private Law
Private law deals with disputes between individuals or private entities. Here are two examples:
Contract Law: The Contract Act of Pakistan covers agreements between two or more parties. It ensures fairness and clarity in business dealings. This is part of private law because it resolves disputes between individuals without government involvement.
Family Law: Family law in Pakistan includes regulations on marriage divorce and inheritance. It governs personal relationships and ensures the fair division of property. Family law is a branch of private law because it handles matters between individuals rather than involving the government directly.
-. You must select two laws from your country, you must place them in one of the branches of law explained in class (or with which of the branches of law it is related or similar), and you must also explain why you place that law in that specific branch.
Law 1: The Penal Code
The Penal Code of Pakistan belongs to the criminal law branch. It includes laws to punish crimes like robbery assault and corruption. This law is placed in criminal law because its main purpose is to maintain order and justice in society by punishing wrongdoers.
Law 2: The Contract Act
The Contract Act of Pakistan is part of the civil law branch. This law focuses on agreements and disputes between private parties like businesses or individuals. It fits into civil law because it deals with private rights and obligations.
Part II:
Of all the branches of law (explained in class or that you know and has not been explained), which one do you find most interesting and why?
The branch of law i find most interesting is criminal law.I am fascinated by how it ensures justices and keeps society safe. Criminal law holds peoples accountable for their actions and gives victims a sense of closured. One reason u find it so interesting is the investigative process. Detectives lawyers and judges work together to uncover the truth and provide fair trials. It is also exciting to see how evidence is gathered and used to make decisions in court. Another reason is its role in preventing crime. Strict laws and punishments discourage people from breaking the rules. This helps create a safer environment for everyone. Criminal law’s impact on society makes it a compelling field to study.
Parte III
We have all had or experienced moments within one of the branches of law. So you must tell us about your own or someone else's experience but of which you have full knowledge and can adapt or compare it with one of the types of law explained in class.
I experienced a situation in my family related to inheritance law which is a part of family law. After my grandfather passed away there was a discussion among his children about how to divide his property. According to Islamic inheritance law which is followed in Pakistan the property had to be divided among his sons daughters and wife in a specific proportion. The process started with a legal consultation. A lawyer explained how the property should be divided under the law. While most family members agreed with the decision one person felt the division was unfair and filed a case in the local court.
The court listened to both sides and reviewed the property documents. After several hearings the judge ruled in favor of following the Islamic inheritance law. This experience taught me how family law ensures fairness and protects everyone’s rights. It also showed me the
