Answer: The Grinch, mentioned in the story, is a symbol of that unnamed part in each of us that does not embrace part of what we have in life. To some that may refer to, Christmas. Which things bother this rather camouflaged Grinch- maybe it’s the overly commercial aspect and obsessive superficiality. Perhaps, it is the feeling that one has to be happy and cheerful during a period when feelings are inensitive and exposed. It could even be the Grinch within us that understands that the promise that the anticipation of having the perfect family holiday could be.

Someone goes through a loss or even a broken heart; such a person cannot afford to celebrate Christmas. On the other hand the extreme can be a person is too much pressured with work or financially challenged and thus hold a resentful Grinch like demeanor. Also, The Grinch feels as if his own life does not fit in with the visible holiday’s atmosphere and this makes him begin to feel it well.

Why does the Grinch hate Christmas so much

The answer can be as many as there are people, each being their own Grinch. Maybe he had a terrible childhood episode that the word Christmas alone makes him experience a disgust in his mouth. I wish he feels lonely, or left-out, because that’s the time of the season for fun and having friends. Thus, still holding true to the basic realization that whatever hatred for the festivity one may pretend to be as grinch, one might not be entirely averse to the holiday. Or he or she might like the crackle of the fire, or the smell of the cookies baking, or the lights coming on. Knowing these positive features might open the series to that Grinch’s heart and let them also enjoy the wonders of the Christmas.

The term 'Grinch' can mean the negative nature of the human self that misses out on some things of life. To some people, that might include Christmas. Maybe this unknown Scrooge is irritated with commercialization and acting like everything is okay when it is not. Or maybe it’s the having to smile and be merry around people we love most when our feelings are at their worst. Perhaps it’s the disappointment that maintains a façade of the perfect family holidays that the Grinch inside us know cannot exist. Recognizing the existence of this Grinch is a great yardstick towards recovery. It helps to feel these emotions without guilt or feeling that something is wrong with you so that a new perspective to Christmas and to other experiences of life can be had. This is a good clue to realize that it is important to work on ourselves first.

A range of circumstances can contribute to making people adopt a Grinch like attitude, or behavior. One can lose someone they loved or get a break up during the holiday time making it impossible to enjoy Christmas. On the other hand, we may have so much work or financial troubles we are weighed down to the point we can’t help but to blame like the Grinch. Also, growing up watching TV advertisements for Christmas and other happy occasions while in their home they experience otherwise can cause them develop a grinch like character. For the main character to be changed they needed to be surrounded by people who understood them and offered them encouragement to embrace the magic of Christmas. Sometimes love and compassion, or at least the lack of its opposite, hatred, can change the world or at least the grumpy heart of the Grinch. Per this point, if one practices empathy, he will reduce pressure on the Grinch and in time he is mel”; They help him experience Christmas spirit. Even if person acts like the Grinch, he or she does not have to be a person who feels a particular way about Christmas. Rather, they can get used to the fact that there is beauty and miracles in the holiday though one can be a sufferer himself.
