sv-escritura || Indonesia's education hopes in the hands of the new education minister
Dear friends, currently in our beloved country Indonesia has just inaugurated our elected president for the period 2024 to 2029. Likewise, all ranks and ministers who handle their respective fields have also been appointed by the elected president, including the minister who handles education.
With the replacement of the old minister of education with a new one. Generally, all ranks in the world of education are again hoping for significant changes, which will be brought by the new minister of education. Because in reality, every change of minister, of course, new hopes for changes in education in Indonesia towards the better are highly expected by many groups.
However, the tough challenges of the world of primary and secondary education in Indonesia today demand the new minister to work even harder in managing increasingly complex education. There are five points that are the new Minister of Education's big priorities, namely:
1. Teacher Quality and Quantity.
The first thing that must be fixed is teachers, improving the quantity and quality of teachers is the main priority that has not been completed until now. If our education is to succeed, then the quality and quantity of teachers who meet the standards are a must.
2. Facilities and Infrastructure.
Basic facilities and infrastructure for the implementation of quality education are a necessity. Not only in urban areas, but far from that in remote areas, the number of schools that provide education still has facilities and infrastructure that are far below standard.
3. Teacher Welfare.
The push to improve teacher welfare must continue to be echoed, including by leaders at the ministerial level. If leaders at the ministerial level are only busy taking care of their personal and group welfare, when will they promote the welfare of their subordinates?
4. Financing.
It is natural that the mountain of demands on the world of education to have equal quality of education with developed countries in the world are associated with the problem of financing. Quality education must also be supported by standard financing. Fulfillment of the standard of financing for student education at each level must meet the financing standards as calculated by experts.
5. Curriculum Changes.
Changing ministers is synonymous with changing the curriculum. However, this change must still exist, how the existing curriculum can be accepted and can actually prepare the next generation to be better.
