World AIDS Day |
---|
Every year on December 1st worldwide people celebrate World AIDS Day. It was first observed in 1988, then it has become an international day. Main aim of this day consists of making people aware of the disease and the people infected with it coming together to combat the disease. This day helps explain how people get HIV, and how it can be treated. We have seen today, in Bangladesh this day is observing in every year. This day teaches people that HIV is an infectious disease, but also a it can be managed by care and treatment. There still fear and confusion, especially in village areas where it’s even harder to spread the right information.
Propose and Draw a Mascot to represent the day.
For World AIDS Day, I drew this mascot. Just try drawing a mascot 2nd time. I hope you all like this.
Give a brief description of your mascot.
My mascot for World AIDS Day, firstly shall draw a red ribbon. Red ribbon known as a symbol for HIV/AIDS awareness. I will add a smiling face with little hands, little eyes to make it look lively. There will be a small heart in there, representing love and unity. It will be cartoon style so everyone can take it. The face of this mascot will adopt love, empathy and social support to people living with AIDS. It will help spreading awareness and inspiring people to be kind around themselves.
What are the changes you think this day has brought to your community.
World AIDS Day has changed a lot scenery in Bangladesh. HIV/AIDS was feared in the past so many didn't understand what HIV/AIDS is, but many now understand that this is an infectious disease that is tretable. People are learning more about it through AIDS Day. The medical care and support to people infected with HIV/AIDS has since improved in the country largely due to organizations like the Bangladesh AIDS Foundation and other NGOs. Some changes have come even in rural areas, through AIDS Day and awareness campaigns. There is still more work to be done changing how we think about the disease, in order to view it with empathy rather than fear.
Who are the active promoter, and what do you think can be added to have more impact to your community.

There are many organizations in Bangladesh working hard to spread awareness over HIV AIDS. Some important ones are BRAC (Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee), Bangladesh AIDS Foundation and the National AIDS Organization. They have programs and awareness campaigns. Not only do they raise awareness, but they also offer health care and counselling to those having HIV AIDS. The Ministry of Health and the government are also making efforts to prevent spread of the disease. The information need to reach more people particularly in the rural areas.
For increasing awareness of HIV/AIDS through AIDS Day in Bangladesh, there are several steps to do. In the first, more should be done to disseminate the correct information to the people of rural areas. Awareness can be led by local health workers. Secondly the schools and colleges should train the students about HIV/AIDS to enable the knowledge at least the young people must be knowing of HIV/AIDS and responsible this to act. Third, media campaigns should be run in association with popular personalities so that the campaign is received and carried by as many people as possible. Taking these steps will result in a positive change in thoughts towards HIV/AIDS and people will become more empathetic to other.

Your description beautifully captures the progress Bangladesh is making and the importance of raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. The mascot concept is a creative way to make the message more accessible and relatable, especially through the use of a red ribbon symbol with a warm, inviting face. I completely agree that spreading accurate information, especially in rural areas, is very important. It is still a challenge in rural areas, although the number of AIDS patients is negligible. I wish you success.
Thank you sir for your kind words. I agree that raising awareness in rural areas is crucial. Wishing you success too.

Hello friend, I love the concept of your mascot, it really portrays the message more than we could say orally. The little kid inside the ribbon holding the heart symbolizes great affection towards the victim of this AIDS. Somehow people fail to understand that having this AIDS is not a death sentence, it's just a sickness like hypertension that doesn't have a cure, so why do we stigmatize these ones? They deserve a beautiful life like everyone of us out here and the society should understand these ones aren't second class humans.
Your entire message body is easily relatable, and to the WHO, I pray they get the funding they need for the research of this disease so there will be a cure soon. Thank you for doing this, it sparks that little hope in the heart of those that have this AIDs as well as creating awareness to those that stigmatize the victims.
Best of luck to you my friend.
