Hello steemit family, happy temptation Sunday. Yes!!! Temptation Sunday. Today's gospel talked about Jesus in the desert who fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted by the devil to go against God but he defended himself with the word of God. The priest urged us to flee from temptation and use the word of God as a protecting shield because just like the Jesus knows the word, so too did the devil.
I got home, had the leftover food steamed, shared it among my siblings, ate some and headed for the piggery. I spent close to 4 hours to clean their fences, feed and give them water. It was even worse because the well was dry.
When i was returning home, a small scenario occurred. A group of children were returning from God knows where. They met one of their friends on their way and we're teasing him. They said he claims he is a scammer yet he doesn't dress like one. One of them went further to explain that scammers have a lot of money and spend extravagantly, they wear expensive dresses and shoes and have expensive phones ( iPhone). While he was outlining these characteristics, a man in a bar just by the road said to his friends " do you hear what that boy is saying?, He says he wants to quit school and become a scammer ". When i heard that, i felt like going there and clarifying them but i didn't.
Now look at it this way, if i was not there when the boy was talking, i would have probably believed whatever that man was saying to his friends and my impression of this child would probably be a disappointing one. In this case, it wouldn't really matter to the child but imagine a situation where people hate someone and make them feel exempted just because of hearsays. It could have a massive impact on their mental health. It could lead to depression, death or stigmatisation. It is very important then to not generally conclude or judge someone based on other people's thoughts. Always have an open mind, you could save a soul with that!!!
