The Diary Game [28/12/2024] Another Lockdown Experience.

Compliments of the season guys, and welcome to my blog as I share my daily lifestyle content with you all. It is the last Saturday of the month and luckily the last Saturday of lockdown of this month imposed by separatist fighters on us to mourn one of their fighter members who died.

On such days most people avoid moving around town for security reasons as both the military and the fighters patrol around town. One can never tell what will happen next on such a day. But it is what it is, life must continue.

That said, I started the day on good footing as I woke up early to start the first phase of curation with the SC05 account. I searched across different blogs and communities for quality content and supported them.

I had to cook for the family before doing any other activity. I had prepared huckleberry with fufu corn. Every ingredient was available in the house I bought the previous day. It was quick for me to prepare it and wash all the dirty dishes.

My sister-in-law from the USA had send us something and it was at my husband’s cousin's house. All this while we have been busy and did not have time to go and collect the parcel. We live in a different neighbourhood and on this day, it was best we go to her place and collect the parcel before the holiday season is over. When work will fully resume, we might not have time to go there.

On a bike, we were lucky to find a bike on such a day

This neighbourhood is highly secured due to the presence of a military barracks, several gendarmeries offices and more to that it is like a GRA for most government officials like the governor, senior divisional officer, generals, divisional delegates, etc. It is common to see some private cars moving around and bikes because it is difficult for separatist fighters to penetrate into this neighbourhood.

We arrived at her place and she was sleeping. We had to make some noise around as she showed us their new car they just bought and struggled to learn how to drive. She entertained us with drinks, food and chewables. Guys, I'm kind of watching my diet and I refused eating any of those things but she insisted we must eat something from her house. I had to eat the chinchin and drink the vanilla malt.

What is the Christmas season without Chinchin? Guts this is the season that in every house you must be entertained with chinchin. For those who do not know, chinchin is a snack prepared mostly by Nigerians and Cameroonians using flour, milk, butter, nutmilk, eggs, vegetable oil, etc.

After eating, we did not want to stay longer because I had to rush back home to continue with curation. Guys, she did not only hand us our parcel, I was surprised she packed a bag for us. Guess what was inside that bag🤔?, cow organs, dried meat, rice, soap, etc. That was not all oooh, she gave me money 😱😱. I was shocked about all that and I was like how do we carry these things back home if we do not get a bike?.

It was already evening period and most bikes had closed working for the day because they do not want to risk working in the evening hours. She insisted we must carry all the things along. She accompanied us to the roadside while we had some discussions.

Along the way, we realised it was difficult to get a bike and we asked her to go back home while we continued trekking till we got a bike. My husband had to carry most of the load.

You could see how the roads were empty. This is the Governor Street

After walking for a while, I developed knee cramps and was literally limping. My husband asked us to wait a bit we might be lucky to get a bike. Luckily, one pa was going back home and saw how I was limping and decided to carry us home first before he closed for the day.

While at home, I had to feed the baby before I continued with curation. I heated water and took a warm bath before continued writing the weekly curation report.

My day ended with me achieving all my tasks for the day and until my next diary, once more happy new year 🎆 in advance 🥰🥰.
