Christmas Boxing Day [26th December, 2024].

Christmas Boxing Day is a holiday celebrated after Christmas Day. A time for relaxation, sporting activities, shopping and a day to spend with friends/loved ones and exchange of gift boxes.

As Christmas remain a time for love, giving, and togetherness. I really wanted to use this festive season to visit friends and family members. Yesterday, 26th December, 2024 I visited my aged long friend who happens to be a committed steemian too. @udoikotabasi is my childhood friend from the same village.

We grew up together, attended the same High School, After our university, life seemed to part us. He got employed by Akwa Ibom State Government while I ventured into business.

His nature of job and my busy schedule didn't permit us to visit or spend time with each other as often as before. I thank God for this Christmas season who have given me the opportunity to create new memories with my long time friends and loved ones.

I telephoned my friend, @udoikotabasi by 9am and informed him of my visit. He was so excited on phone, that yesterday was a public holiday which he had a whole lot of time to spend with me. When I arrived his house, he was about to plug ripped pawpaw fruits in his compound.

He really took time to prepare those pawpaw fruits for our consumption. We ate and enjoyed ourselves, it has been a very long time we spent time together, so it was stories upon stories.

We shared old time memories, we discussed about our respective progress in life. In the course of our discussion, I wanted to use that opportunity to introduce him to steemit platform but I was delighted when he told me that he has already joined steemit. Wow! A friend cum steemian brother.

We strengthened our bonds and reminded ourselves of the importance of human connection as we encouraged ourselves about our progress in steemit. His wife served us with delicious Christmas meal which we ate and enjoyed together.

It was about 3pm when one of my clients who is a dealer on both foreign and Nigerian made casket called for an urgent job.

In as much as the season is for relaxation and fun activities, I put my business first. The celebration can't be for the detriment of my business, especially when my client is in need of my services.

Mr. Vitalis Desmond, the CEO of Guaranteed Funeral Concept contracted me to print a sticker picture of his client's late mother which he was to use for the interior design of the casket job he was producing.

I went to the office and did the design and printed the job perfectly. Customer's satisfaction and timely delivery is always my business watchwords.

When I was about leaving the house in the morning, my son asked me, "Daddy, buy something for me oooo..." I asked him what I should buy for him! He said anything. I jokingly said, Okay I will buy shoe for you when I come back.

By 6:25pm, my wife called, "Hi Darling, Princewill wants to talk to you, I've given him the phone," she said. Hello Princewill, how are you? I'm fine, Daddy remember to buy my shoe ooo.... My son reminded me of the joking promise I made with him in the morning, something I had forgotten.

I left my client's workshop by 6:40pm and it was late already, I quickly went for shopping at the nearby boutique and bought two pairs of casual slippers at the rate of #7,000 (Seven Thousand Naira) each, making the sum of #14,000 (Fourteen Thousand Naira) for the two pairs, equivalent to 39.837 steem.

I arrived my house by 7pm, the excitement from my son for buying new shoes for him created another joyous moment. He was busy slipping his feet into different pairs. The excitement reached a fever pitch. He exclaimed, "I love these!, Daddy thank you God bless you!". The beaming smile on his face said it all. He felt like he was on top of the world.

The new shoes became an instant treasure, something to be cherished and shown off to his friends (my neighbor's kids).
