A Book Launch. A Call To Action!
Greetings, ladies and gentlemen of the Steemit ecosystem. I hope we are all having a fulfilling Sunday.
I had a beautiful day that started with church service at 6:15 AM. After church service, I went to the office at about 8:30 AM because I had a training session with two new students of mine at the Texas Institute of Public Speaking. They are only available for training on Sundays due to their tight schedules.
A Leader With A Difference
We had a fulfilling three-hour training session. Afterward, I visited a barber to get a shave and look presentable because I was invited to a book launch by a senior colleague in the speaking field, Anguh George Charisma. The book is titled "A Leader with a Difference." George Charisma is an insightful leadership coach, professional speaker and speaker-trainer whose mastery of his subject(leadership) is charming to witness both in personality and in professionalism.
I felt honored to be there and to have made new friends. I was mentally nourished by the leadership presentations given by the author himself and a renowned leadership coach and trainer, EbaiEyong Samuel. Ebaieyong Sam shared powerful insights on the topic of leadership, but I was particularly interested in the attributes of a leader that he shared under the abbreviation HHH. The first H stands for heart, signifying the character, passion, and intentions of a leader. The second H stands for head, signifying that a leader must be an information junkie. A leader needs to constantly be in the learning process. The last H stands for active hands, meaning that a leader must be a person who takes action on the good information they have acquired.
This event stood out to me because I am in the process of writing my first book. I think the event came at the right time to give me the much-needed push to keep working on my book(s). During the event, another speaker, a pastor, encouraged us all during devotion to embrace writing, regardless of our qualifications. He encouraged us to write about the problems we face in our communities today, even if it's just two pages. He said, "If you have identified it as a problem, it's because we know that things are not supposed to look like that, so why not pen your suggestions in books so that people can read and get inspired and eventually starting work on solving the problem?"
Overall, it was a great day, and I was blessed and I can't wait to go through the book
A must read
I hope you too were blessed by this day.
Cheers!
