The Scene Behind Farming

Farming simply is the cultivation of crops and rearing of animals either to eat or sell. Many took farming as a profession for the less privileged. It’s sometimes referred to as a dirty occupation. It’s true farming needs a lot of time and hard work, constant checks from planting till market. It’s not easy in this sector and that’s why many run away. Back in the days, farming was just mainly for household consumption but when things started to change, there was need for surpluses to be sent to the market so as to have cash to purchase other household items.

Time have passed by and a lot have change. Farming now is a respected profession. That’s the rich office. This is because people have taken it for market purposes as each and everyone needs food so whether you like it or leave you must eat. The prices of food items recently have been increasing until a basket of tomatoes was sold at 12000cfa which was at first at 2000frs. This is because the population has increase and land have reduced to cultivate with increase input prices thus many have turn to increase too the prices of their food items. Many now look farmers as great people in the society because their products are well needed by all to survive. To meet up with the high demand, farmers adopt different ways to increase food production amongst which the use of chemicals. Most of these chemicals are soil boosters this increase productivity. This is the good you may know about farming but have you ever seat and ask what happen behind before food is produced?

Farmers passed via hell to produce. They bend their back all day long just to make sure their goal is achieved. Like in the dry season working in a marshy area to cultivate huckleberry, first they have to drain the areas which they work all day on mud, they clear the area, transport manure and buy seeds. Tilling is done which is the hardest part in this period and after they plant and do a daily check to make sure the crops have grown. During the hottest part of the day, farmers work work and work, in water, under sun just to produce. No one cares to know what happens but everyone sees but the success and the output.
For many who have tried, they can tell you how strenuous it’s to own and work a farm most especially to sell. It needs a lot of time and energy.

Please when buying check the time taken, the input use before pricing sometimes. Many when buying for them it’s just to plant but not knowing it’s a system that needs sacrifice. Many have tried and failed even those from agricultural training institutions. Sometimes some of us do not see farmers as anything but eat all times and just at times throw food in trash cans. It’s so painful for us to work this hard then you eat and mismanaged what we have labored for even you pay for it. Farming is a noble profession which it’s via passion one can do it.
