Creative Writing Report and Prizes
Congratulations to all the participants of this edition of the Creative Writing Contest. It was interesting reading your stories about the quaity and quantity of agricultural products in your community; comparing the past to the present. Below are some remarks;
- Most people wrote following others' ideas. I could read people trying to write in the same format and thoughts as others. This is bad because that's where plagiarism begins. The Creative Writing contest does not tolerate plagiarism.
- A lot of people used copyrighted images and it's totally unacceptable. The next time it happens, their entries will be disqualified from the contest. Use Pixabay, Unsplash, and Pexels or any image from websites that offer free images. Local pictures taken by the participants are preferred.
- We are more interested in local stories of the subject as opposed to academic presentations on the subject. Meaning, giving details about your community and how the quality of agricultural products have changed in terms of taste, durability, size, etc will give the entry more value as opposed to generalizing quality without giving indicators of how quality has changed.
- Creativity and originality are still lacking in the contest because a lot of people Google search before starting to write. That's why most presentations are more academic as opposed to telling the local story.
That said, congratulations to all the participants of the contest.
In a very special way, want to congratulate @desireforku for bringing out the real community story in his creative writing. There was a lot of creativity and originality in his work and reading it made me feel like i was in his community.
