Sunday was soo much fun for me since I got the chance to rock my Toghu (Bamenda Traditional Regalia) and savor our rich cultural display.

My neighbor from Teken Quarter in Mile 4 Nkwen invited me to the traditional memorial ceremony for their family members who had traveled to the world beyond.

It was a very beautiful occasion with a lot of cultural displays, plenty of food and plenty farotage.

While dancing, it rained money on us and at the end of the event, I had 4000CFAF. I never knew nor did I expect any money from attending the event but it seems it’s cultural that those dancing get motivations from the onlookers.
I really enjoyed the very tall juju’s (masquerade) display and after all the dancing and singing, we were given plenty of drinks, meat and Achu.
I got almost a Kilo of meat. I didn’t know I could attend an event and go back home with lots of food and plenty of money. Sunday, was really good and I enjoyed my self.

I am proud son of Bamenda and every time I get the chance to enjoy my very rich cultural heritage, I do it with soo much pride and joy.
I am a grassroots man and I’ll keep being a lover and promoter of culture because culture is identity and pride.
