Egusi Soup recipe
Hello fellow steemians accept special greetings from this end of globe, to precise Cameroon .It’s another great opportunity for me to welcome you all in my kitchen.As I share with you one my favorite recipe “Egusi Soup”. Most at times we prepare it mixed with other vegetable but I will share with you people .Egusi soup that only comprises of fresh fish and normal ingredients.

This Egusi soup is mostly enjoyed in Cameroon almost all the ten regions.It can be eaten with pounded cocoa , yams ,Garri made out of cassava ,boil rice etc.All depend on individuals at the moment what they will love to enjoyed eating the prepared egusi soup .
As for me I enjoy eating Egusi soup with pounded yams .Not withstanding, in the below section, I will be sharing my simple recipe for egusi soup and how to prepare it . I hope you find pleasure reading through my post below 👇🏼.
The following are the ingredients I used in preparing my Egusi soup .The ingredients will always depend on the quantity of Egusi soup you will like to prepare . My recipe will depend on the quantity I have prepared.
- Fresh tomatoes
- Onions
- White pepper
- Garlic
- Green species
- Njansa
- 1 Maggi cravet
- Salt
- vegetable oil
- Fresh fish
Step1
Sliced all your fresh spices that tomatoes,onions , and green spices.Make sure you grind your white pepper, Egussi and Garlic,after you must have peeled it .

Remove dirts inside the head and stomach of the fresh fresh so that it should taste bitter .When fried on prepared inside the egusi soup .Then salt it with white pepper and pinch of salt and Maggi .For it to taste good .Next fried the fresh fish and keep aside .

You most have grind your egusi to powder form the quantity you will love to use . Make sure since its Egusi soup don’t add any water inside at the moment.
Step4
Pot your clean pot on the Gascooker,when it is hot .Add in your vegetable oil .Put in onions , garlic and green spices and fry well .Dont forget to add your salt and maggi
When it’s ready add your dry grind Egussi and fry well inside the species for about 3minutes .When you see it’s only oil is caming out of the egusi .Add water , Garlic , white pepper and Njansa .Allow it for about 30 to 40minutes to well .Make you don’t put much water for the egusi soup to watery .
The essence of cooking and frying egusi and cooking well .Is make sure it should be smelling . Add in your fried fresh fish and stir it . Now your Egusi soup is ready .
Egusi soup can be eaten with pounded coco yam,boil rice,Garri etc .I earlier mentioned it will depend on individual on what they will to eat the Egusi soup with .
